We go down in late September and I have been doing this for 3 months..... ALL ANONYMOUS ( has my relatives totally wondering, as I ship from several staes )

First I sent a letter from "Mickey and Friends" to all the kids going.

Few weeks later I sent them all a CD of Disney's greatest hits, specifically designed for each kid with custom made labels.

Then I sent a personalized "Disney Countdown" calendar that I made on my computer.

Next, I had a woman friend of mine, who lives in Orlando, call up each of them pretending to be Minniw or Mickey depending on who they were talking to.

And today, I just sent another note from Mickey. I even created personalized envelopes with Disney stuff all over it.

I figure that I will do one more thing before our trip in 30 days.

Any ideas?

Remember, it has to be something cool that can be done anonymously --- I'm having as much fun freaking the parents out as I am making the kids happy!

Kids are ages 2 - 6.

Greatideas. What fun. Do you have a Disney Store by you? How about sending each person a few Disney Dollars? A little spending money to kick of the gathering? I'm not sure how many people you are buyingfor - but just few dollars would be fun!

Yes, we have a Disney store 4 miles away. And that is a good idea as I am only buying for 5 kids. That will be my final surprise. Thanks!

We too are a gathering and the kids in our group received letters from Mickey with an Orlando Postmark, with the help of my favorite CM!

They loved the letters. They immediately thought that I had sent them, then realized they came from Orlando and are now mystified!

DUH!

What wonderful ideas you have. LOL I wish I were an imaginative person.

Maybe when DS (3) gets a little older.

Great ideas!

I have also heard of calling the Disney Florist and having balloons and a small plush in the room upon arrival.

My kids would LOVE that.

Maybe you could buy them all matching shirts from the DS to wear on the first day???

What lucky grandchildren you have :)

I like the matching t-shirt idea. That would be really neat to have them all wear the t-shirts to the MK on the first day and get a great picture.

What a wonderful person you are!!!

I hope you have a magical trip:D

Somenbody else is doing the shirt thing. And these are all my nieces and nephews from my wife's side... I'm only 42! LOL

Wow, you are going to be the most favorite uncle EVER - are you going to tell everyone you were the "Secret Mickey"????
Maybe you can send a WDW planning video/dvd to each home.
Also, if you are staying on site, maybe you can arrange wake up calls for all of them (which will be made by the Mickster himself!).
Maybe send something to use for the trip down (car or plane) like Disney coloring books/crayon.
If you REALLY wanted to go all out you could do one of the gift bag kind of things that a lot of people have posted about on this & the tips thread.
Make sure you buy glow sticks to pass out in the evening too. My dd4 LOVES having glow sticks! (www.orientaltrading.com sells them in bulk)
YOU ARE THE GREATEST!

No, actually, I am getting just as much fun out of freaking the parents out as I am making the kids happy!

I will tell them about it at our first dinner with everybody there. Then they can all shoot spitballs at Uncle Chuck!

Actually, I won't let the kids know, as that would ruin the magic.

Thanks for the ideas everybody.

Wow, what great ideas.

I've sent my kids letters from Pooh and Friends. They will also get letters from Mickey and the Princesses before we go on in November. I ordered them the personalized name tags from Laughing Place and will "mail them" to my kids in their letters from Mickey and The Princesses requesting that they wear them on the trip.

I'm so excited about these little preparations. It almost as fun as the trip itself.

if you have a Dealz store near you they almost always have flimsy little disney wallets you could put the dollars into! Can't beat a $1 each. As a matter of fact, if you need help facilitating that, I'd love to be the evil underling <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_105.gif' border=0></a> and send you wallets if you can't find them but still want them!

I've been tagged!!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_107.gif' border=0></a> I guess I didn't keep my fairy glasses on long enough, they sure got me by surprise!!!!

Thank you tag fairy! Your're the best.
