I always think how cool it would be to meet (as many of you have) some of the camping board DIS'ers that I "see" on here. I usually expect that would most likely be at Fort Wilderness. I would not expect it to be in the dining area of Arnold's restaurant on Cape Cod in Eastham, MA. However, that is where I met DIS Board member Jeffrey1966 today! He asked "Are you 4077?"...how he was able to recognize me from my lousy little picture on here I don't know, but our 3 or 4 minute meeting (as we were both on our way to eat with our family members) was really cool and a first for me. He was actually camping....when he said "you must be camping" I had to sheepishly answer no...lol....staying in a rental home that my MIL rents for a week each summer (although I think it would be cool to bring the trailer out here....I used to camp with my grandma at Scusset Beach at the very beginning of Cape Cod in my uncle's 70's vintage Winnebago). Thanks for saying "hi" Jeff! Was fun to meet someone finally....and now that I know the general area of upstate you call home, I may pick your brain for some good local weekend campgrounds (you all ready know we are familiar with Copake). Anyway, it was a fun couple minutes in an unexpected locale :)

That's pretty awesome. I have yet to meet any DISers in person. I only started on the boards about a year ago and haven't been to the Fort since I have been on the boards. I hope to (eventually) meet many of the other members. It would be cool to bump in them outside of the Fort too.

Hi Jimmy! Yes I would say that was very unexpected. I could have been facing another direction and the exchange would have never taken place. It was great to meet you and I hope you and your family enjoy the rest of your time in Cape Cod. BTW the last time we vacationed in the cape we rented a house and I must say it is nice to just arrive to your vacation spot and enjoy without all the setup sometimes. As far as other Campgrounds we stay at, the Adirondacks is our usual destination. If you ever plan to head that way I have a couple of ideas. I have to say that our meeting got me thinking that a North East Dis camping meet would be cool. Hopefully talk again soon, Jeff

It's funny you say that because I also had the same thought afterwards....kind of the "Gulf State Park" meet of the northeast....will have to have a lobster boil and clam chowder instead of the crawfish and whatever was in their mix down there...ha!

There are certainly plenty of 'us' up here....KristinU, PaHunter and others not on top of my head....

I think Snowmedic would be part of the list.

I guess a "northeast" roll call would be in order to see who the potentials are. For me holiday weekends (Memorial or Labor Day) work best as I do not have a M-F job (it can be most any day, although most of the time not weekends) nor am I able to really select particular weekends via personal days or anything (outside of my vacation weeks). Those holidays, however, are pretty much (with 95% certainty) "off" for me.... Not sure how it works out for others potentials out here. Part of the GSP meet was over Memorial Day if I recall, yes? Anyway, it would be a cool idea to start considering.

Better make sure Vince, @snowmedic , knows about this. If you guys get to meet him it's well worth it.

I'll follow along on the boards if you guys do put something together.

Oh, it was shrimp, crawfish, chicken, T bone, potatoes, corn, and Heaven only knows what all else we mixed together. I gained several pounds that week.

Okay. So Memorial day weekend works for you and I work for myself and my boss said that weekend is a good time. Let's see how many more Dis campers could get together then. It looks like Paul(peg110) is on board with the idea.

NEPA here! While not "Lobstah" country, I'd love to enjoy a good one! Will keep my eyes/ears peeled for the updates on this one. :)

Haha....I think that came to me just because of my current location and the fact that I have been enjoying my fill of that creature this week....all of the "typical" regional foods are welcome in my belly :drinking::goodvibes

Oh holy smokes!

We gonna have two separate Dis meets around the same holiday? This is getting good.

popcorn::

If Michael is coming with The NSS ALL STAR SQUIRREL REVUE all I have to say is WHO DO I HAVE TO TERMINATE WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE TO ATTEND

popcorn:: Someone remember to bring an 18x24 750 piece Thomas Kinkade Disney Puzzle too. :disrocks:

I just wanted to be sure there wasn't any sort of copyright infringement here...don't want to seem unoriginal (although I was thinking that had sounded fun and would be a good addition to ANY meet).
