Cool online pedometer!

I thought all those who walk/jog outside might find this useful:

Gmaps Pedometer

Basically, you can create an exact map of your exercise route, and it will tell you the mileage. It can even add mileage markers to the map! You could probably even get an estimate of distances around WDW.

April, that's really cool! I keep dropping and breaking regular pedometers, and I travel the same routes frequently so I'm going to give this a try!

Just tried it for the neighborhood I'm about to move into. Unfortunately, the map given is very inaccurate and not up to date. A lot of the streets I will be on don't even show up. Too bad, it does look really cool. I'll try it later for another area & see if I do better there.

Sorry to hear that, Nancy. I'm not an expert, but I believe that the pedometer is only as up-to-date as Google Maps are - which can be at least a few months old, if not older. Newer neighborhoods are bound to be inaccurate, unfortunately. Hopefully they'll get around to finding updated satellite pictures of your new neighborhood soon!

It works really well for my neighborhood, but the roads around me haven't changed much in the last couple of years.

I especially like the useful link, "Click here if you don't live in Hoboken", why heck, just about everyone can use that one!

I've had to curb my visits at work... Its just too tempting to plan an new route when you don't feel like working
