What helpful things have you taken to make WDW more *comfortable* for your children? I'll try to update this first post so that it's helpful to everyone.

I'm more interested in safety/helpful items (i.e. Sunscreen) than I am entertaining ones (i.e. Gameboy).

Thanks everyone! This will be in both the TIPS and the FAMILIES areas.

  • Strollers
  • Sunshades
  • Sunglasses
  • Hats
  • SUNSCREEN
  • Water
  • Fans
  • Swim Diapers or trunks
  • The top that turns bottles into sippy cups
  • Small bottles of water with sports top (I think they are 8oz and are made by Deerp*rk)
  • Disposable bibs, tableware, cups & placemats (with the sticky strips on the bottom)--lots of us make premade "sets" in each cup
  • Disposable Changing pads
  • Trash bags (for diapers in the hotel rooms)
  • Mesh bag to grab out of stroller basket when getting on rides/WDW buses
  • Child location items: safety tattoos (can purchase or make them with the correct computer paper), alarm-type device
  • Mini fans or misters
  • Towels to sit on, sleep on, or dry off with in the park
  • Stroller covers: UV, mosquito, rain
  • Cooler to keep drinks for little ones cold in the park
  • Pool safety equipment: floaties, noodles, goggles, etc.
  • Disposable bibs for park snacks
  • Plastic Zipper bags (for EVERYTHING!)
  • Outlet covers & other child safety for hotel room
  • Premeasured formula (dry and add water as needed), snacks & other food items
  • Something to tie cups & snack cups to stroller so they don't get pitched overboard
  • Paci "leash"
  • Diaper rash creme (b/c they'll sit so much more in a stroller than at home they'll probably need this!)
  • Meds and first aid items (to include nail clippers)

I take some Ziplocs and a washcloth from the room. That way when the kids, you can wet it down, wipe the kiddies faces off and put the wet washcloth back in the baggie.

That's a great idea! I always take ziplocs for wet clothes, accidents in the parks, etc. but never thought of taking a washcloth - thanks for the idea!

glow bracelets :)
disposable camera (so they won't always try to get mine.)
towel for the stroller (to sit on or dry off with or for shade)

Here's some stuff we take every time:

* stroller covers

* sleeping bag attached to inflatable mattress w/foot pump so everyone can
have some space while maintaining room occupancy requirements.

* cooler bag from QVC w/frozen coolant built in -- just put in the freezer
overnight and pack it up (similar to this:

definitely a portable fan that they can hold.. I also try to bring a comforting item from home like a stuffed animal or something.. that really helps at night to get everyone settled down and actually asleep!

I havn't been to Disney yet, but when we travel with our son, I always bring his blanket, his favorite monkey stuffed animal that has seen better days, extra sippy cups in case he drops one somewhere (you just don't the drama that ensues when he doesn't have his sippy cup ) and a purse full of small toys that he can play with at the hotel. Preferably toys that don't make too much noise since hotel walls seem to be thin.

I always bring ziploc bags and a grocery bag full of snacks so that he can eat in the car, stroller, wherever the mood strikes. I have one of the insulated bottle bags that works great. I can juice, water and milk in that bag and it stays cold for several hours. My son is easily distracted by food and drink. What can I say? It works. :rotfl2:

He never, ever took to the binkie which I am soooo glad. One more thing to keep up with!

In like to bring the self stick disposable place mats...my son is a plate thrower and this gives me a sanitary way to not use a plate even ate mickey's backyard bbq!!

Being the mom of a binkie sucker, I always make sure to take pretty ribbon and tie one end to the binkie, and the other to her pants or something like that. DD would just freek if it were nap time, and she had no binkie!
Also, I don't seen any medical stuff mentioned like Nasal asperators, or tylanol, or nail clippers, tweezers, or a brush, or desitin, etc.

Adult size poncho to cover stroller when it is parked for the occasional rain shower while you're on the ride.

Hand sanitizer.

Child-size neck cooler.

Instead of taking lots of little child safety stuff for the room, I took masking tape last time. The tape can work as outlet covers and to keep drawers or closet doors from opening.
