Cookies BBQ???

Is Cookies BBQ on Castaway Cay a buffet?.... What foods do they serve?...what desserts? any answers would be great!

Yes, it is a buffet. From what I can remember, they had hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, BBQ ribs, potato salad, potato chips, salad, fruit, cookies. I am sure there was more, but that is all I can remember!

It is part of DCL, so no cost.


We had potato salads, couscous salads, small bags of Lay's chips, BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, salmon burgers, corn on the cob, chocolate chip cookies, soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt.

There was also a salmon sandwich and soft serve cookie dough ice cream.

It is included in the price of the cruise.

They served lobster on the ship the night before, and must have had some leftovers, so they had lobster burgers at Cookies. They were pretty good, and the couple of cats that live on the island certainly didn't turn up their noses either.

Are the lines long at Cookies? What's the best time to pry yourself out of a hammock, if you're lucky enough to have one, and head over to eat lunch at Cookies?

We went around 12 or 12:30. There was a line, but it wasn't very long. We had a large group, so the hard part for us was trying to find a table large enough for all of us. (We did end up having to split up.) The food was good!

BOth times I have been, the lines have been fairly quick. THe first cruise they had Lobster Burgers (YUM). I couldn't wait until the second but they had Salmon Sandwiches instead (YUCK).

this only applies to the 7 night cruises ... the 3 and 4 night cruises don't serve lobster.

Man! I was just on a 7-day double dip and we didn't get any lobster burgers. The fish du jour on Sunday was a grilled mahi mahi sandwich (pretty tasty), and on Friday there were the salmon burgers (didn't try; had the jerk chicken instead).

They have fruit salad on the buffet line, and a separate fruit stand where you can pick out whole fruit and have it cut up (mangoes, bananas, papayas, pears, grapes -- well, they don't cut those up! -- and apples). Only problem -- some of the fruit was not anywhere near ripe (pears and mangoes). A little disappointing -- but the fresh fruit at Goofy's Galley (near the Mickey Pool) was reliably delicious all week.

The soft serve ice cream flavors at CC last Friday were Oreo and Snickers. Yum!

Sheesh, I have never had lobster on CC either. I keep looking but never am lucky. I have never seen a salmon sandwich either. Maybe this Sept......

The food was delicious and everyone in my family found something they liked I loved the couscous and the mahi mahi sandwich - yum yum! The lines were reasonable and we had a nice shaded picnic table to sit at and enjoy our meal.

Our whole group really loved the food at Cookie's! We thought the hamburgers were great (better than the ones on the ship). The chicken and the big chocolate chip cookies were really good also.

I was surprised to hear that some people didn't like it or thought it was "okay". We really raved about it throughout the meal
and will be looking forward to eating there again next time.

We loved Cookies! We thought the food was great, as a matter of fact we were just talking about it this past weekend and our trip was April 2005! Guess its time to go back! I thought the whole thing ran very smoothly just like everything else Disney does! Enjoy and don't forget to try the Konk Coolers! Yum!!!

I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat seafood either...any thing at Cookies for me to eat?
