Convince me poly is worth it!!!

Poly is amazing. For me, since that's where we stayed as kids, it IS Disney. If you can afford to stay there than do it. It's a beautiful resort and I hope to stay there again soon. With the grounds and location it's hard to be disappointed.

Thanks everyone! I am excited to stay at the poly just second guessing spending that much money (we can afford it though).
Should I do all my adrs on check in and out day to enjoy the poly resort fully?

Please tell me I am not crazy for spending 700 for two nights in a hotel?!?'

What are the chances of a free upgrade at the poly?!??

We stayed at the Poly last November. We just returned Wednesday from AoA Cars Suite. The suite was spacious and we loved the various themes. However, I would have preferred to have stayed at the Poly again. I love the resort, the rooms are large and you can't beat the location. However, the price difference for the 6 nights we were there was $1,000. I would definitely say that the the extra $110 you would be paying is well worth it. The Poly is a beautiful resort and feels like a vacation within a vacation. Your kids will love the monorail and the boat to/from MK. They'll also love the volcano pool and being able to see Cinderella's castle from the pool.

I have two sons and we had character meals at Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare and Tusker House. Last trip, we also ate at the 'Ohana breakfast. My kids love the character meals. Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and 'Ohana were the best of those meals. Since you have girls and you're only eating at one character meal, I think 1900 Park Fare may be the best choice. What's also nice is that the characters there can speak so they can interact even better with your children. My DS told Mad Hatter that it was his "Un-Birthday." He replied, "it's my "Un-Birthday" too. Mary Poppins told my kids that they have very good manners.

If you decide to not do a character meal, 'Ohana's dinner is one of the best meals we have had on property. We went last year for the first time and returned again this past week. We had excellent service and the food was delicious. Kona Cafe is also very good.

Thanks for the advice. I must admit I am excited to stay at the poly however I am worried the kids would like theming of aoa better ?!?!

Only have one night to do dinner at poly as we have adr at be our guest the next day. Am torn between enjoying resort and Ohana and going to 1900 park fare?!

If you have the money, don't second guess! I was the same way when we first stayed there but then I realized I was second guessing for no reason!!! It cost us more than $700 for 2 nights when we go in September so you're getting a good deal. Have you looked into the current resort discounts Disney is offering?
As far as the ADR's go, are you planning a day at the resort? You could have an ADR elsewhere if you wanted and still have time to enjoy the resort.

Thanks. We are coming over from clearwater that first day and are planning to swim and relax. Have dinner somewhere?! and then watch wishes from a hammock on the beach!
Just not sure if we should leave the resort for dinner or not?
I had to talk dh into adding this onto our week in clearwater so only two nights, second day will be Mk and checkout I have ohanas for breakfast (switched from chef mickeys to enjoy resort and swim before leaving. (am hoping for late check out).

what am I missing to enjoy there??

I would stick with 'Ohana for dinner, but it would also depend on your kids (how old, do they like the type of characters at Park Fair, would the stepsisters scare them, are they old enough to do the 'Ohana activities, etc etc). If you do decide to go to the GF for dinner it's a lovely beachside walk from the Poly to GF and you will definitely enjoy the atmosphere of it. It just takes a few minutes, it's much closer than it appears.

My kids love the Poly , which does have theming, its a POLYNESIAN theme!!!! LOL

But the truth is , after a long day at the parks, coming back to the Poly is like coming home for us. Its incredibly beautiful and relaxing. So much so that this trip we are taking to resort only days just to relax there.
Thats the best endorsement there is!
