We ate there 2 weeks ago. I think you can both find something you are happy with. There are a lot of things to choose from. We found the food to be good.....but not great. It is a buffet. Hope you have fun!!!!

if your staying at akl i would try it but i wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. the food is ok but nothing special. hope this helps. maria :cheer2:

Same here. A lot of people really rave about this place and wouldn't miss it. I wouldn't go out of your way for it, particularly if you aren't sure to start with.

If you like to try different things then go to Boma. I enjoy the food there. the Dessserts are Great & the Soups are Fabulous.

I guess if there is one single thing I say to people when they ask for "convincing" about Boma's is the prime rib. I admit some of the food sounds a little weird and with so many wonderful restaurants to choose from at Disney, I completely understand people having doubts. Our family of 5 (mom, dad, three kids) all enjoyed our meals very much. I liked a lot of the "different" things, but I also probably had three helpings of the prime rib. So if your DBF has doubts, he can just pig out on that good old American beef.

I didn't think the prime rib was good. It was one of the things I was looking forward to. If you want prime rib, go to a place where its not coming off a buffet.

After all the rave reviews on Boma I was really, really excited to try it. We ate there last Saturday night and I thought what everyone else seems to be saying, the food was good, not great. It was a neat experience though, and Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful. We got there early and looked at the animals and then after dinner tried out the night vision goggles, it was really fun just being there. I wrote a full review of Boma on this board, I think it's on the second page by now.

I am fully booked for all dinners. I think lunch is not available at Boma. How about breakfast? Does it look different to other restaurants?

We're among those that love Boma. My dd is the traditional picky eater but even she finds stuff to eat there. I could happily exist on the butternut squash soup...oh so yummy. My dh has to have at least 3-4 trips up to the different pods..heaven forbid he not try everything. We love the atmosphere, we love the CMs, and walking around outside and checking out the viewing stations is wonderful.

We were not impressed by Boma. For the money, there are many places IMHO that would be a much better experience.

If you like to try different foods, you will enjoy the experience. There is so much to choose from and a lot of it is stuff you will have never tried before. The AKL was beautiful and worth the trip over there. We did it at the end of a day at AK, really fun. The desserts are fabulous and the chefs are accomodating and really nice.
