Converting OLD ticket question

I have looked for this answer on the boards, but please forgive me if I'm missing it.
We have two old paper tickets with days left from 2001.
Do I have to wait until I am at wdw to link those to MDE account? If so, I guess that means I can't choose fastpass plus until I am there in wdw?
Also, we will have to buy tickets for other members of our party that would be eligible for selecting the fastpass plus options ahead if time. I guess that doesn't help though if it's not for our whole family?

I was in a similar issue in 2014 and here is what I was able to do.

I called the ticket number for Disney and they were able to help me get them on my account. The problem is that they required me to answer some questions about the tickets I was trying to load. Such as, when were the tickets use last (month and year), what park were they used at last? Those questions were difficult to answer and I eventually got them loaded to make FP+ reservations. I had to pull out photos from previous trips to try and determine last part visited.

I just added two tickets from 2002. I called and also was told I would have to answer questions. I had no idea what park I visited last but thankfully another question was what credit card did I use. I have had the Disney Visa since day one so was able to answer that question. That was the only question I was asked. The CM was able to load the tickets for me and I was able to make FP+ also.

I emailed a copy of the front and back of my old ticket, along with a copy of my ID to: ticket.inquiries@disneyworld.com They were able to help me without having to answer questions about purchasing the ticket. I would include a contact number if you email them.
