Converting Child Tickets?

My son is going to be 11 on June 29th. Two years ago we bought him a 4-day park hopper pass for our trip, but only ended up using two days. We are going to Disney again for two days in July. I read on another site (http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/dispass.htm) that I can convert his ticket to an adult ticket for no extra charge if this is his next visit... does anyone know if this is really true or if its a "Disney" legend?

Thanks!

Wendy

While I've never done it, it is true. They will upgrade your sons ticket to an adult ticket at no extra charge since he did use it at least once.

It's true---I've done it. And like you, I was skeptical---even called Disney to confirm it. However, at the time of the transaction (at Guest Relations inside Epcot) the guy tried to charge me an upgrade fee. Because I had called and confirmed that there is NO CHARGE to do it, I held firm, he got someone else in and it all worked out. The only rule is that your child has had to have used the ticket at least once and be approx. the correct age for everything (even though they never really checked this). Bring the child with you. Now that I'm more Disney savvy, I prefer to handle complicated ticket transactions (like buying an AP) at DTD. It's airconditioned, the people are very adept, and it's well staffed. If you have time, you might want to go this route.

Thank you so much for your experiences! I'm glad to hear he can still use the ticket! Excuse my ignorance - but what is DTD?

Thanks again!

Wendy
