I was nominated as a delegate to a conference being held in Anaheim between Christmas and New Years. I've never been to California before, And through the convention we are able to dad's four day hopper passes for $170. I know for sure I will have a free morning on New Year's Eve- I am flying out of SNA At 5:00 PM. I will also most likely have free time after 4 o'clock the other days that I am there, And I might have possibly have a free morning.

I need advice- I know the crowds are going to be less than magical, And I will not have my family with me, Possibly might hit the park with other convention attendees. Please give me tips on how to make this experience not miserable- Husband and I are planning on heading back probably in the next two years as he has family in the area, as do I.

I don't think I would go near the parks on NYE, even in the morning.

But for the other days, I would know exactly what you want to ride/do/see, make the plan, and do the plan.

I know NYE is going to be a madhouse. I'm going more FOR the experience that day than TO experience anything that day. I plan on getting there 45-60 minutes before opening and hi-tailing it out around noon.

The other days I am honestly probably not going to have the opportunity to get to the parks before 4:30 or 5:00 PM. I'm hoping to make a list of 3 "must do's" for each day I'm there (looking at 3 evenings at the parks in all likelihood) and figuring anything else on top of that is icing on the cake.

I have no idea how crazy it will be during Christmas as I've never been, but as a single rider (assuming you don't join some other delegates who might slow you down!), you can get a lot more done.

First thing: read HydroGuy's tips re: DLR for WDW vets. Heck, read ALL of his tips, even though you don't have time to plan a full immersion trip given the conference. He has amazing tips in a sticky at the top of this forum.

Second: go in with low expectations and you'll be thrilled. I don't know how crazy your conference schedule is (or how tired you may at the end of the day), but if you can get back in the park in the evening, I keep reading how amazing Radiator Springs Racers (RSR) is at night. Get thee to DCA at least one night and single rider (SR) it if you can't pick up a FP early that same day.

I'd also focus your limited time on what DLR has that WDW doesn't and enjoy yourself!!!
