Contracts drying up??

Pretty much. This time last year is when I purchased the direct contract and I didn't have any planned use for the 2023 points so I did MB. In retrospect, I wish I had banked those into my 2024 UY.

We have a trip planned for December 2024 and booked that exactly at the 11 month mark, and then somewhat last minute planned a trip a few months back over MDW (2024). That's resulted in me borrowing from my 2025 points which isn't a huge deal, but I think I'll be in a borrow cycle now unless we change the number of trips we take or the type of rooms we book.
I've been borrowing like crazy too.

But, I must avoid the dreaded "year without a Disney trip" at all costs. If that takes buying a new contract, so be it :)

Everytime I’ve clicked on this it skews too high, imo, by a lot.
Thank you for the feedback. The Offer Suggestion tool is new and we're actively tweaking the algorithm. If you have examples where you think we're quoting a price that is too high please shoot me a PM. We're committed to getting this right.

Over the years I've had many conversations with participants from all sides of the transaction, brokers, sellers, and buyers. Brokers are hesitant to return to the seller with an offer that is wildly below asking price, they do it of course, but not without advising their client to reject or hard-counter the offer. Many sellers are perfectly content to let their listing sit on the market for extended periods of time. To that end, the "suggested offer" we provide was designed to provide a realistic range for negotiation for that specific contract. If we provide a suggested offer range that is too-low confidence in the tool to erode quickly as bidders get hard rejected over and over again. We worked hard to come up with an algorithm that would strike an appropriate balance of realism, but we know there is room for improvement.

You'll notice that the suggested offer tool has a movable slider, you can move the price slider up or down to quickly get a feel for how different price-points for that contract would line up with the dvcforless.com DealScore, which really is a good way to benchmark the listing against the current market. By all means, make an offer that lines up with the "Great" or "Exceptional deal" ranges. The best deals really do go fast. Often leaving the market within hours of posting them, so be sure to setup an alert to scoop them up before anyone else.

Again, let me just reiterate my appreciation for those of you on this forum. You're the real power-users that we're striving to make happy. I'll take any and all feedback!

Yea, its almost like you have to rent some points or take a smaller vacation to catch up. lol

Yep!! I never thought we'd go twice a year and it happened last year and is happening again this year too. I think if we only go once in 2025 and stay at a less point heavy resort we should be out of the borrowing cycle for the 2026 UY.

Since we purchased, we've stayed at BRV and BWV and loved them both. I didn't think I'd consider a 2042 resort but those two resorts have me thinking otherwise. I'm tempted by some smaller contracts out there right now but can't get past the earlier expiration and the stripped status. @Chili327 am I remembering correctly that you sold a BRV and purchased a BWV? Any insight or advice for me about one over the other based on your experience?

that's what I'm telling myself about not making offers on any of these stripped contracts I'm seeing. not much of interest in my UY in the way of loaded contracts in the sizees/resorts I'm interested in. trying to be patient because I know they will pop up!

The solution to this is the new contract with a year of fully banked points. Just sayin'.

Funny when I first started learning about DVC, my goal was to get 50pts & go every 3 years (150pts), now its every other year with future expectations of going twice a year, every other year to make use of an annual pass every other year. lol

Honestly BRV was great, but my first impression wasn't great when they forgot about me in the lobby on check-in, so it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, which i got over in the next 5 days of glorious vacation. ;)
And trying to compare it to BWV where I had just come from to deal with that shotty check-in... Also BWV is absolutely amazing!!
Technically I only bought BRV because it was a good deal & I wanted to see if I liked WDW, so it was a relatively cheap way to test out DVC.

Yep, just paying to get further behind. lol

If you read my post about how why I chose my 100pt CCV contract, it's clear I am a completely different person now than I was back in May of 2024. 🤣

Exactly!! Not the goal haha. Another small BRV contract just popped up ...restraint! The loaded contracts definitely appear to be dried up. Is the conventional wisdom that loaded contracts will start popping up towards the end of the year before MFs are due?

I will be heading down this path next year. The kids (30ish) persuaded me to participate in my first 10k race. I am not a runner but they are. We will be back in February for Festival of the Arts. Family trips are priceless but not enough DVC points to cover 2025. As others said in this thread some great deals but we are waiting for PIT.

After buying our second contract we had enough points to cover our typical yearly visits. Add-on-itis is no joke though! It’s like every DVC path ends in add-on 😂 Either you want more trips or you want more room. After a decade of having 3 or 4 of us in a studio no problem, somehow we’ve changed after buying DVC and now anything more than 2 people in a studio won’t work. Next trip we booked 2 studios and I see where this is going… 2BR after that. Need more points otherwise we’ll have to skip 2026.

Lord help us when it’s both more trips and more room to spread out, lol.

Ain't it the truth?

Before DVC, I would have shoe-horned my family into a closet on the outskirts of WDW and been happy about it! Now I feel like I need a Grand Villa at VGF for every trip 🤣

New year will be our 'year without a Disney trip' - sort of.

We're planning to go to the new Universal EPIC park around December 2025, staying at the hotel attached to the park. We are not planning to use DVC points, and are not planning to stay at Disney. (singing) For the first time in forever .... lol.

If there is something new at Disney then, we will probably spend an afternoon or two there. But this will be our DVC break.

Pure, unadulterated blasphemy, but I guess if there's anything that could make someone take a year off Disney, EPIC Universe may be it.

Personally I don't think I could be in Orlando and NOT go over to WDW, at least for a few days.

Our boys (really men) are huge Nintendo fans and want to relive their youth. We already had several discussions about a Universal stay in 2025. Our last Universal trip was pre-pandemic. The Helios looks like a solid deluxe accommodation (how DVC has spoiled us). If Universal started a timeshare it would be a major shift for our family trips. We still have 2025 Disney trip booked but less time in Disney for us in 2025 is a given. Maybe 2026 as well based on the family chat thread.

Same, have a 2025 trip planned but at least 3 days of that will be spent at Universal, although planning to base ourselves at Saratoga for that part of the trip and Uber to Universal (am I mad?).
