Contracts--attorneys, anyone know what this means....

I am not a lawyer, but I do deal with lawyers and contract interpretations on a regular basis. What I believe this means is that a contract may not be enforceable if it includes terms that the public would find grossly offensive. So, for example, forcing children to work long hours, or unpaid, or under poor conditions etc., would be so offensive to society that a contract requiring it would not be enforceable.

I'm piling through and I would guess that might be legal language for "against the law"?
