Contract Questions

Just got the contract today and had a few questions:

It said if you request a room change while you are there, you would be charged a fee. Is this accurate? and how much do they charge? I know some people have been complaining about low room floors on MK views at BLT and were changed.

Also can someone explain the waitlist process or direct me to a previous thread that would help be get better insight?

Others can give more clarity, but I think the charge only applies once you've gone up to the room. If they assign you a room at the front desk, and you ask for a different room, I don't think it applies. I also think some people who have gone straight up to the rooms and come straight back have not been charged, but your mileage may vary.

An example would be if I check-in today and they say all they have is a room that does not meet my requests but there will be one open tomorrow. So if I take the first room and then move on the second day, I would have to pay a cleaning fee for the first room.

Studio/Inn Room - $30.00

Two-Bedroom - $60.00

If you book a reservation at a certain resort and decide you want to book elsewhere but there is no availability, you can put in a wait list.

You can only have 2 active WL at a time and in many instances, have to be very specific. If a room becomes available, then MS will automatically change you to that new room. To know whether or not your WL comes through, you just monitor your reservation through the member website. Once a WL comes through, your reservation will show the new room. You can put in a WL request to cancel out at 31 days prior or 7 days prior. If the room you are hoping for is going to use MORE points than the one you have booked, then its okay to WL until 7 days out. However, if the room you WL'd for is LESS points than what you have booked, you want to cancel the WL at 31 days (so those extra points don't have to go into a holding account).
