Booking a flight on Continental Express on an Embraer plane - EJ145. I know SWA enforces the buying a 2nd seat for Pooh sized flyers policy. Does anyone have any experience with Continental? I asked the reservationist but he didn't really know. He just quoted me what the website said. It says that you must be able to fly with the arm rests down. DH will be occupying the next seat (they are only 2 across) and does not mind if I encroach. Will we have any problems? It's only a 1 hr. 17 min. flight. I'm afraid I'll get to the airport and be denied boarding as there aren't many seats left (and none together) so buying 2 seats isn't an option. Thanks for any help.

I'm sorry, if you don't think that you can fly with the arm rests down you will probably have to buy 3 seats :(. Some airlines have the policy that if you purchase a seat and you don't need it they will refund the extra seat. Perhaps you should ask Continental if they have the same policy. That way you will be covered if you need 3 seats instead of 2. Good luck!

How pooh sized are you talking.
On all flights I am just able to buckle the seat belt without an inch to spare. I found continental express exactly the same as all other flights. So if you are fine on other flights you will be fine on CE.

if the plane is only 2 across and you will be sitting with your family I would not worry about buying a third seat, the only person effected is your travel partner, and they dont care.

check seatguru.com for the width.

you can request a seatbelt extender as well.

HOWEVER I disagree with the above comment - remember, seat assignments are subject to change and you could be next to a stranger.

I had this experience a few weeks ago - a very big man (just BIG - very very tall and very large) sat next to me and overflowed several inches. I had the FA reseat me, which was rather difficult as I didn't want to embarass him.
