I have just got a fab price from TCS flying with Continental, to New york and Disney, which is about £700 cheaper than flying with VA. According to the brochure they have seat back TV however I was wondering if they showed children's cartoons/films?

Our Continental flight last year had seat back TV's and while they didn't have a kids cartoon channel they did have two kids movies (I think one of them was Madagascar but I can't remember the other) They also had a games system which DS liked.

We're flying to Orlando with Continental (via NY) in a few weeks but it seems they only have seatback tv's in first-class on our flight (757-200) and, even so, they're still updating those so not all first class will have them. I'd really love if they did have them but I don't think so.

Oh, I just read TinkTatoo's post! Really? Wow!! Did you fly from Shannon?

We flew with continental in nov 04 and we didn't have seat back tvs much to DH's upset! I am not sure about the children's entertainment but I just wanted to say that the service we received from the crew on board was excellent - it was the best flight that I have ever been on! Also having American crew really made it feel like my holiday was already started when we got on the plane!

A big :thumbsup2 for Continental from us!! (great price by the way!!)

According to the brochure the seat back TV are on the 767 and 777, I think I will get dd a portable DVD player just in case.

Continental are widely regarded as being the best US carrier at the moment for good service but it all depends on what route you want to fly which equates to the aircraft you get for the In flight entertainment. They are using the 757-200's with the winglets as they are very good for the fuel cost per passenger but the entertainment isn't good with no seatbacks. Also some people dont like being on a narrow body aircraft for so long. If your route has a 767 or a 777 then you are on a winner for sure..

Sorry Debs - we got seat back TV's when we flew with them last year in 2005. This year they changed to the 757's and we got no seat back TV's :sad2: (I think they moved the seat back TV planes over to the UK route)

Sorry if I'm being a little 'dense' here but who are TCS? :sunny:

Thomas Cook Signature. :)

Thanks :thumbsup2

I sort of guessed the Thomas Cook bit but couldn't, for the life of me, fathom out the 'S' :rotfl:

Thanks! That's ok. We got a great price and saving money is entertainment enough for me these days! ;)

T16GEM & jns, great to hear such good reports about Continental! :thumbsup2

Last year we flew with Continental from Bristol. 757s and no seatback TVs. Good service though.

I am pricing up flights for next summer and Continental are about €1000 more expensive than they have been for the past two years :(

Does anyone know how quick to get thru security at NY If I go from Bristol to NY and onto Orlando We only have 1Hr 45 min at Newark, it would be much cheaper to do a DIY, also, do we have to pick up luggage and then recheck in or does luggage go straight on flight to Orlando ? Sorry to be a bit naive but I'm such a newbie
