Contemporary Transportation Times

Hope someone can help me with the following trip times:

1) Bus from the Contemporary to the Animal Kingdom.

2) Bus from the Contemporary to Disney Springs.

3) Monorail from the Contemporary to Epcot.

Don’t forget that a bus might come five minutes after you arrive at the bus stop or thirty minutes after you arrive at the bus stop (or even longer).

The monorail runs every few minutes but can experience delays due to “traffic”, mechanical issues, etc.

Disney suggests allowing 1.5 hrs for transportation. This might be extreme most of the time, but I have definitely had long commutes before.

IMO the Mom’s Panel adivice of 30 minutes total travel time from CR to Epcot is a bit on the “best case scenario” side. You have to board the Resort Monorail at CR (which requires going through security first), transfer at the TTC, wait for the Epcot monorail, take the trip to Epcot, walk down the ramp, enter the park, etc. You no longer have to go through another security check at Epcot (which is a HUGE upgrade), but the whole thing is still a process and getting anywhere in Epcot requires a decent walk. That whole journey could easily take more like 45 mins or even longer if you’re not lucky with monorail arrival times.

I’d recommend building in more time if your exact arrival time at Epcot is important.

The second security checkpoint when taking the monorail to Epcot has been eliminated? I knew it was in the plan, but I didn't realize they already did that. I'm very excited about that improvement.

Yes, the reconfigured entrance area opened before the holidays. We used it last week. It was FABULOUS! We tolerated the second security check when it existed, but this makes things so much better.

Also better for those coming via bus who now don’t have to share capacity with a monorail dumping 300 people in line.
