Hi all, we'll be staying at the Contemporary and one morning, we have reservations for breakfast at the Trail's End at Fort Wilderness.
:sail: I know there is a boat that goes between the CR & FW.
My questions are, exactly where is the CR boat dock?
How often do the boats run?
How much travel time should I allow?
How far is the Trail's End from the boat dock?:confused3
Whew! That is a lot of questions! ;)
Thanks! :wave2:

Boat dock is right outside the "back" of the Contemporary tower. It's next to the pool and the beach. You can't miss it.

Not sure how often the boats run. We pretty much always allowed at least an hour to get from one resort to another.

Trail's End is a short walk up the path once you dock at FW. Have fun!

Eljay,

Don't forget the sticky posts at the top of every thread page. There's a link to resort maps there, very handy.

CR, dock is top center of the map...

I'm not sure how often the boats run but if you're going to the MK after b'fast you can boat to the MK from FW.

BTW, Trails End is one of our favorite b'fasts at WDW.

I am not 100% sure but I think the boat to Ft Wilderness also stops at the Wildernes Lodge. However I can't remember if there is a seperate boat when going to each Resort, or if they share the same one.

Thanks for those links Steve! Those maps help a lot. :sunny:

And, thanks to everyone for your input! :wave2:

The boat launch runs 7 am to 10 pm (most nights).

This is totally wrong. The 2 Blue Flag motor launches servicing the CR, WL and the FWC run from 0645 to 2330 each day. These launches run clockwise until 3 p.m. and counter-clockwise after 3 p.m. (1500). Interval between these 2 boats at each of the CR, WL and FWC docks is about 20 minutes. Allow at least 45 minutes travel time if you have to wait for one of these launches.

I thought the MK boats changed routes after 3 but the 2 blue flag boats went in opposite directions all day. 1 went clockwise, 1 went counterclockwise and both boats(blue flag) met up at CR. I also thought the blue flag boats stopped around 10pm, I know after watching fireworks from the 4th floor one night last year we had to get to MK to get back to FW.

That's what I thought , too. It may depend on the time of year? But every time I've gone, there have been two boats running simultaneously in opposite directions. Either way, you still should alott 45 minutes to be safe.

Take it from a WDW Watercraft CM, the info I provided is current and correct. The 2 Blue flag motor launches on Bay Lake no longer run in opposite directions - this was changed this past June.

Just goes to show you, even if you ask here the info on transportation can and does change. As you said this change occured in June and my last trip was in March. Will I see you on Bay Lake in Oct(2 night stay for MNSSHP on Oct 26)?
