We are staying at the Contemporary, and I have a AAA parking voucher that I have been led to believe gets me a good parking spot at any of the parks (AAA preferred spots I have been told).

From the Contemporary... should I use my parking voucher to drive to AK or Disney Studios? We are also going to Hoop Dee Doo Review, unless I drive over there.

Any suggestions? Or should I avoid driving like the plague.

You can use the voucher, we do.

Just be aware that, even though it is close up parking, the trams don't service that section so it could be a walk to get to the turnstyles

I am not sure what you mean by this. There is no AAA perferred parking at FW. If you drie, you will still need to take a bus to get to the other side of FW.

We have stayed at the CR many times, and are also AAA members that usually rent a car when we are at WDW. Here's my opinon on when to drive/not drive.

1. MK - DUH - either walk over or take the monorail. You are closer at the hotel than you would be at the parking lot!

2. Epcot - depends on when/what we are planning for the day. Taking the monorail is quick and easy - just monorail over to the TTC then switch. That said - we have had great luck using the AAA Diamond parking at Epcot - It is just above the handicapped parking near the kennels.

3. AK, MGM, and DD - we always take our rental car, since I HATE the busses from the monorail resorts - they are always crowded since they share the bus, and the ride takes forever - especially to DTD. At AK - you are on the far side of the parking lot past the handicapped spots if you use the AAA parking - but it isn't a bad walk at all - about the same as to the bus stops - just in the opposite direction. At MGM - the AAA Diamond parking is right past the bus stops - really close to the entrance - but this one fills up quickly. DTD - no AAA Diamond parking lot - you're on your own!

4. Hoop de Doo - DON'T drive!! You would have to park in the satellite lot, then take an internal bus over to Pioneer Hall. Take the blue launch at the Contemporary's boat dock - it runs continuously between WL/CR/FW from 7 am till 10 pm. This will let you off at the beach just below Pioneer Hall. The only problem will be if you are at the 9:30 show - then you'll have to take a bus back to the CR - but that's still easier than taking your car!

Have a great trip!!

Thanks CRCrazy for the great information! I was thinking of few of them it would be better to drive.

Just to confirm... the AAA parking pass is for as many times as you want to use it, right?

Yep - it's good for the whole year - except the blackout dates that are listed on the back of the pass. The blackout dates are different for the different parks - for example - it doesn't work at MK at all during December - or at least it didn't last year - I don't have a 2006 pass.
