RumorMouse says that HSM will debut in October at the MK. RumorMouse is split on the type of show. One says a stage show at the Galaxy Palace in TL, the other says a traveling show ala Character Caravan at EPCOT.

The design on the architects website that Tink10 found about 4 weeks ago showed a tour 15 stories high. If it is truley 8 I would be happy with that.

As for the HSM, all of the reports I've been seeing talk about the show starting in October at the Galaxy Palace Theatre. The show will be called "The High School Musical Pep Rally". There will be a finale with all of the stage performers marching around the crowd singing "We're All In This Together".

I just got back on Sunday from a 4 night stay at the Contemporary and was told by the CM at check in that the North wing was being converted to a new DVC resort She said that is why those rooms had not been refurbished.

On that note, we got a South wing room and thought the refurbishment was great! We loved staying there and would found definitely consider an add-on!

Hey y'all--

We are here, what a great week (except for the rain coming tomorrow but we can work around that!). Anyway, I hate to give away a cm's id, but someone who is directly affected told my dh today that when we see him next time (our upcoming post-Thanksgiving trip) we'd have to meet with him in a different location because: Disney is getting ready to demo some existing structures at the Contemp. in order to build the new, 8 story DVC resort. He said he's seen all the plans as well.

That's all. And if you're thinking "wow, just another rumor with no facts" send me a pm and I'll give you more details. Although the rumor has been around for awhile this is the first time I've heard of a more definite timeline.


Another rumor heard from cm in barbershop: they're getting ready to start rehearsals of a new live show (somewhere in the Land) based on High School Musical.

Is the monorail going to go through the new DVC? And do you think that this DVC will be much more desirable than SSR?
I know it is a personal preference, but we really do not enjoy the themeing of the CR at all, (DD calls it the big toaster) but its proximity to MK is great!

Do you think they will sell out SSR and then open purchases to CR? Just wondering.

1 - only if it jumps the beamway!

2 - Not for us, we love to being able to ditty-bop over to the Village from SSR. The nest is empty, and our Park Commando days are long gone.

3 - We love CR's theming, first WDW resort we stayed at. We've always called it "The temporary". Bit off on that one.

I would say considering it is pretty well known that on October 1 the North Wing is closing, you can expect to hear something soon. I agree that the Member Cruise will be the venue for the announcement.

I agree the member cruise would be the perfect venue but isn't the cruise toward the end of Oct? Would they really wait that long after the rooms are closed?

I think they could. I doubt most will think anything of the rooms going down. I mean most are probably expecting them to take the North Wing out of service soon to rehab it. So they could stop putting guests in the North Wing, continue with their surveying etc, which was going on when we were down there 2 weeks ago and not make an official announcement until the cruise.

Bascially during our trip, I could not find anyone that was willing to say it was not going to happen.
