I would say considering it is pretty well known that on October 1 the North Wing is closing, you can expect to hear something soon. I agree that the Member Cruise will be the venue for the announcement.

One thing that might favor having the announcement at the CR is the 35th Anniversary on October 1st. It is also the 35th year of the Contemporary.
Just a thought.

I was just at VWL last week and there are fences up with the green privacy stuff in them and storage trailers in the back. You can see this stuff from the ferry to MK. I tried to get a close up of the decal on one of the construction vehicles to see what company it was but it did not come out.They took down the privacy fencing in anticipation of Ernesto so you could see the storage trailers easily. Something is deffinetly happening and the one wing looks like it was not even being used.

Hi, I'm back, we had a great WDW trip, then back to HH to close down the house for the season, and finally home to a server that doesn't work! Until it can get fixed I'm limited to slooooow dial-up, so will try to be brief.

Should have been more clear in my first post (thanks for all the pm's!). The extent of what I know is already posted, that they are starting demolition on the North Wing section and surrounding leisure areas, the plan being for future DVC, the timeline being that we have to meet with our Disney friend next time (Thanksgiving) in a different location. Sticking my neck out here, but dh and I feel pretty confidant of the source of our info. If you really have to know how we know, and if you are a DIS friend (I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble and as we hear over and over again, Disney monitors the boards), I don't mind answering the pm.

Funny sidenote: at the Block Party last week I picked the CM who looked most "in the know" and posed my question: what's the timeline on the CRV? I got back the same song and dance response that nuts posted, about "Disney making plans and changes all the time, and he personally knew nothing". He also said that while he couldn't confirm, he wasn't denying it either. Guess I shouldn't have asked the loaded question....

I won't be there until October 11th. Hopefully I'll have some good construction to take pictures of by then! My sister works at the Contemporary, so she is there every day, but she doesn't seem to care, she's not obsessed like me! Every time I bring up the possible Contemporary DVC when I'm on the phone with her she's like "you want to talk about that AGAIN?" Too bad she doesn't own a digital camera or I would have her email me pictures...
