Contemporary Resort opinions wanted

For today's choice, I'm thinking of booking my family of 5 into the Contemporary for next August. I'm hoping that the convenience factor will outweigh having the 5 of us in one room (the kids will be 10,8 and 5.)

Can someone tell me where the "Standard View" rooms-- aka "the cheapest ones in the hotel" are located? And is that location do-able with kids? Is there a particular wing/floor/whatever I should request at that price when I make the reservations?

The last time I stayed at the Contemporary was in 1976, so my memory of it is somewhat rusty!!

Thanks for any help you can give me!1

The "Standard View" rooms face the parking lot and the back of the Convention Center. "Garden View" rooms are the rest of the rooms in the wing; at most other resorts they would be waterview because you overlook either Bay Lake, the pool or the canal connecting Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.

We'll be in a Garden View room 8/25 to 9/1.

We stayed at the Contemporary Tower MK view in January. Concourse SH wasn't great this time around. The view was tops though.. The birds on the balcony were somewhat annoying. But you still can't beat the Poly over the Holidays. pirate:

I was fortunate enough to have a North Garden Wing room facing MK in May 05. It was a short walk back from MK in the evening and we watched Wishes from the room one night. I took both my sons and they loved the fact you could do that, watch fireworks in AC.

Reading some of these posts makes me excited to know that the Contemporary is going to be wonderful. When I was trying to decide which monorail hotel we wanted to stay at I picked the CR after checking out there rooms. They look so nice. The GF and the Poly rooms on the website look outdated, maybe its just me but that is what I thought :confused3 Can't wait. Does anyone know when all of the construction is due to be complete?
Thanks
