Contemporary Resort - Atrium Club Level

Hope to see you Katherine!
We will be there 12th floor 8/3-8/10
You guys have me more fired up than I already was!
I will share everything I can.

Thanks so much-I greatly appreciate it! I'm certainly hoping for the 14th floor but after waiting 20 years to stay there I didn't want to book 14th w/o being guaranteed a theme park view! I'm sure hoping they dump some pixie dust on my head so i can fly to the 14th floor! I'm also hoping to get a room discount pin-so far they've released 35% off for deluxe from 1/14-3/14 and then for some other dates as well but they're not up to September yet! I've requested to be as close to the MK as possible(northern end of the 12th floor) because 4911/12/13 on the 14th fl (which is apparently closed for rehab) are the standard rooms up there w MK/TPV
Here's a map for you! Hope you get upgraded and we'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon!!

That's the exact reason why we didn't do the 14th floor. We wanted a guarantee on the view.

We are also selected to do the almost exact same thing as you! Except we are doing a splitstay with the Poly CL too. So excited about the magic bands! We are staying 8/6-8/10 at the Atrium Club then 8/11 - 8/15 at the King K. Club! Can't wait!

Katie

I have stayed at both and can not decide which one is better:goodvibes

Sounds like an awesome trip

Also hoping to hear about magicbands. My confusion stems from not having any tickets at this time. Do you have to buy and have them mailed before your trip?
I don't know if I want 5 day or annual passes yet.

Our trip is reserved and we bought tickets as part of a package. We make dinner reservations, plan days in parks and everything in advance. Loving planning out the fast passes in advance, but still being able to change them in the fly with the app!

My wife and stayed CR Atrium Club Level for the first time just a few weeks ago, in May. We adored it—it was the best Disney resort experience we have had so far.

This was a split stay, sort of testing the waters of Club Level. The first half was at the Boardwalk Inn Club Level, the second half at the CR Club Level. We enjoyed the Innkeepers Club at the Boardwalk, it was very nice and the CMs very friendly in a chummy college intern sort of way, but we really loved loved loved the CR Club Level.

From the moment we arrived at the CR Club Level we were treated to exactly the sort of friendly and caring but efficiently professional service we were hoping the club level experience would offer. All the CMs were, of course, pleasant and helpful—to be expected at any Disney resort—but we were very impressed by the obvious pride they all took in their jobs. That is, they took their jobs seriously, really cared about taking care of us and making sure we were having a wonderful time, and performed their duties with a grown up dedication and attention to detail that was a genuine pleasure to experience in this age of casual and indifferent customer service. We felt pampered the entire time we were there—which was a new experience for us. And man, an addictive one. We can’t wait to go back.

We found the food offerings delightful—really delicious food, terrific variety, and lots of it. The food was replenished (and neatened and tidied) with almost obsessive attention. We found ourselves eagerly anticipating what the offerings would be every day, and we were never disappointed. Even the midday snack service, which is supposedly the punt of every club level, was terrific—we still miss those fresh-baked cookies. Mmmmmm.

We had been concerned, based on photos, that we’d find the lounge too “mod” and sterile for our tastes, but that was definitely not the case. It was very, very pleasant, comfortable and cozy, with terrific views and a variety of seating options. It was all but empty 85% of the time, only got even remotely crowded at the peak of breakfast and during fireworks, and even then we never failed to find a table. There was a fridge filled with all sorts of beverages available to us 24/7. There was a TV but it was never blasting and sort of off in its own section so you could watch it if you wanted to but ignore it if you wanted to. And of course, you can watch the fireworks from the huge balcony.

Our room was not a theme park view, but we actually ended up preferring that. We could watch the fireworks from the lounge balcony, and the rest of the time we had a beautiful and serene view of Bay Lake. Our room was located mere steps from the lounge, which was very convenient, and the CR rooms are fantastic—huge and lovely and very comfortable.

In short, we’ve had many wonderful stays in Disney resorts—in recent years the Boardwalk, as I mentioned, and the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge. We’ve really enjoyed them all, but our recent Disney experience was the best we’ve ever had, by far, and we attribute that to the Atrium Club. We’re hooked.

Glad you loved it too. POLY CL is about the same experience. The view is different. It is low and across the lake and so close to the beach!

Thanks for the reviews. The biggest reason we decided on CL is for the pampering for this trip. I chose CR CL because I like watching the monorail go through the hotel. All these reviews make me want to go now.

Thanks for your review :). We've never stayed at the CR, but are trying it (along with CL) for the first time in December and while I'm not crazy about the CR theme/decor, I am excited to give CR CL a try, especially after reading so many great reviews lately (your's included ;)). I'm glad you had a great trip and enjoyed the CR :goodvibes.

So im not the only one then!! Goodvibes. I put a request for the 14th floor but only if the view was guaranteed

Maybe we'll do something like that. Is there any difference between the rooms on the 14 and the rooms on the 12?

If you look at the layout I posted-you'll see there are only 2-3 regular rooms with the MK view... So they seem not to guarantee people those for some reason-they didn't show as booked but they also didnt show as available... I heard(unconfirmed) that the 14th floor is getting rehabbed-they may get rid of the regular rooms altogether and make the lounge bigger-or turn them into suites-but a bigger lounge seems more probable...

Add us to the CL list! We have two TPV rooms reserved for Oct 5-9 to celebrate my parent's 40th anniversary and my daughter's 7th birthday! We stayed CL at GF several years ago, and we loved it. CR and BLT are our favorites, though, so we are super excited for our stay!:)

Crossing my fingers we get selected to try magic bands! How far in advance have they typically been asking families to participate?

Kerry:)

We are doing CR CL TPV from 12/11-12/15. It is our first time on any CL. Prior to here we will be at WL from 12/7-12/11.

I have also heard that they were getting rehabbed, and my guess is the lounge is going to be made bigger. I guess we'll just stick with the 12th because a suite will be a bit much for us.

I spoke to our concierge rep yesterday in anticipation of our arrival next Saturday 8/3. The 14th floor is ENTIRELY closed the week we are there. I was told they don't expect any guests on the 14th floor until Labor Day timeframe. My daughter, then wife, now me all got the stomach virus in the past 3 days. It makes our trip euphoria even more!

I wonder if they will have the floor closed until after the California Grill reopens. I hope you won't have a lot of noise from the refurb on the 12 floor.

I am posting a trip review under separate title this afternoon. One a review of the Magic Bands and another of our stay at the Contemporary Resort Atrium Club level. Unfortunately, this was not the best in Disney experiences.

That's the exact reason why we didn't do the 14th floor. We wanted a guarantee on the view.

We were just at the Contemporary (July 17 to the 27th). We had requested 2 rooms, on the 14th floor, and told them we wanted at least one with a Magic Kingdom View (at the time I didn't know how many single rooms were on the 14th floor. I think there are 4 with MK View and one BL View). He said he couldn't guarantee I would get any with a MK View. Not sure if they only have one room with a BL View how I could get 2 rooms and not get one with a MK View but that is what he said. Anyway, 2 weeks before we went I was reading a lot of post saying the 14th floor was still being renovated so I called. I was told the rooms were completed only the suites were still being worked on. So we got there and they met us at our car and took us up to the concierge desk on the 12th floor and were told our rooms on the 12th floor BL View were ready. I showed them the paperwork that said I had rooms on the 14th floor (which I had paid in full 6 months before). I was told "Sorry" 14th floor not done. To get a MK View we ended up on the 11th floor, with permission to come up to the 12th floor lounge whenever we wanted. Tomorrow I will be booking for our next trip (499 out). I know I will be given the same story that they can't guarantee a MK View. My question is if they are booking rooms and tomorrow a MK View is available, why can't they guarantee it? If it is available tomorrow, what happens to make it unavailable. We book for tickets at the Cirque du Soleil (which I highly recommend) and we get the seats we booked for, why would you not get the room you book for?
