Contemporary rates?

Just wondering what rates are people getting for room only at contemporary? Thank you. Lori

From what I've read on these boards, all the rooms at the CR in the Tower and South Garden Wing have been renovated. The North Wing is probably being converted to DVC.

As for rates, I booked a Garden View Wing AAA room-only rate for May 2007 (Regular season - 10% off rack) for $349/night with tax. I have not been able to downgrade to a standard room as none are currently available. One of the CMs I spoke with said a whole section of rooms were blacked out and couldn't be booked--he wasn't sure if it was because of convention that temporarily is reserving rooms, or if it's due to the North Wing being shut down at some point.

all rates including tax, w/o trip insurance:

Originally could only get a GV deluxe room @ $352/night for 10/12 to 10/15.

Rack for tower MK view was approx. $475/night.

Switched when AAA rate finally became avail @ $432/night

Today w/Dis Visa pkg after subtracting tix & DP approx $357/night...don't think AP rate will come out for my dates (CM said only had 1 other room avail.).

I had a garden wing for may 07 as well. When I called for AAA, they told me that there were no more discounts on that room. But they had AAA for MK view tower. So I ended up switching to that for 50 more per night. Would have been 100 more per night w/o the AAA so I think it's a good deal.
