We are seriously considering upgrading to one of the Deluxe hotels on the Monorail line for our trip in Dec. We are thinking that it may be easier on DD 2 1/2, especially since we will be at MK quite a bit (MVMCP etc. )

My question is about the views at the Contemporary. Which rooms have the best views. I know that the Tower is probably the best bet, but I was wondering if you could see the castle and wishes etc from the North Garden Wing.

Also, they list the room as a Garden view on the website...is this view only available in the wings?

Thanks so much for your help.:earsgirl:

Tower rooms have two views: of the MK and Bay Lake; guess which one is most popular? The Bay Lake is just as lovely; you can see Epcot from your balcony.

Views from the Garden Wings are either standard, garden, or wing. From the North Garden, you can probably see the MK from those rooms closest to the parking lot. The drawback? You'll see the parking lot too.

You can request an MK view if you book the Tower, but it's not guaranteed. Don't fret if you don't receive it upon check-in. The Bay Lake view has its advantages.

We have wonderful memories of our first vacation with our 2.5 yo dd! We were in the north wing, MK view. We could see the fireworks from our room! Nothing like curling up in your jammies for your own private show! ;)

If you can afford the tower (or want to pay the extra $$), great, but if you choose to save a few $$$'s, the wings do have lovely views, too.

Just a word of caution, CR has no zero entry pool and no kiddie pool. You can borrow life jackets from the guards at no cost if you wish to take your dd in the big pool and their are sprinkler jets.

Yes, the wings are shapped like: l------ l

The "l" at the top views the parking lot and is the standard view.

The "----" is the middle and is the garden view.

I believe (but am not positive) the "l" against the lake/bottom are the junior suites.

The north garden views are either pool or MK. I'm not sure about the south. 1 side would face the pool, I don't know where the other side faces.

Thanks so much. I had read some things on other posts that had said that the Garden Wings were a little run down. So I was wondering about the quality as well.

Depending on how much more it will be will probably make the decision.

With a 2.5 yr old, do you think that it would be better to stay in the tower due to the closer proximity to restaurants and monorail?

Distances aren't a factor at the CR; this is not a spread-out resort like the Polynesian or the moderates. The distance from the wing rooms to the Tower is minimal - I mean, we're talking at most a two-minute walk.

Actually, the pool is close to the South Garden Wings.

The NGW views would be standard view (parking lot and perhaps tower or Magic Kingdom) or garden view (Bay Lake and/or garden).

The SGW views would be standard view (parking lot and perhaps tower (I'm not sure if you can see the Magic Kingdom)) or garden view (Bay Lake and/or pools and/or garden).

To answer your question about "the other side faces", it faces the canal (where the waterbridge is located) that connects Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon.
