I was planning a Poly/BC split next year. Have stayed at the Poly and love it. Which one did you do first? What were you disappointed with - either hotel?
We did BC for 5 nights then Poly for 5. Most of my life I have stayed st the Poly so I knew what to expect and I had only stayed at the BC in 1990 when it opened.
I chose to do the Poly last because it’s my favorite and I like to see the castle on my last days watch the boats, the monorail and I used to be able to hear the MK before the kiddie area.
When at the BC, my dh said he didn’t like it. I don’t know why, I think he just never stayed there and knew the Poly. I loved the walk to Epcot and what is not to love about the pool! So much space to swim. My kids all voted the slide as OK, it hurt their back when it switched from one slide bottom to another-I went on it but I don’t remember that since I was just trying to breathe from the climb up and I wasn’t completely flat. I also thought the room was small. There are 5 of us so yes a room is going to be small but it felt tight. I did not like the small bathroom (toilet/shower) especially for getting dressed post shower-I like to be dry to get dressed and after a shower in the small space you just can’t dry, aka moisture. I got over just having a Juliette balcony which we did not use!
I was afraid I was not going to like the Poly after this stay, you know cheating on it. The first day at the Poly, my DS and I went to the lava pool, it was crowded but could of been worse. It rained, we came out and then once clear we went to the oasis pool. It wat was less crowded and quieter for sure. As I was swimming. And looking around, I said to myself I am home. The rooms were far bigger and I always preferred Tokelau which was even bigger then Rarotonga where we were this past trip (that’s my new fav). I also wish there was some kind of curtain but from the door to the bathroom door/end of closet for another dressing spot. The only downfall which my dh hated was the crowded pool. Ok I hated it too. I mean kids were jumping I SAB all over but that pool is bigger. Here kids would jump right in, inches from you. Yes I have kids but I think I taught them to be respectful as I never let them jump in there or if they did, there were not people with in splashing distance! My kids also liked the slide better here as it was one piece. My son did miss playing volleyball.
There isn't???? That is not cool. GF was like this too. Seems like a real flaw to me.
No! But from an above poster, the YC has barn doors.
