On our first day, we'll arrive at WL around 4pm. We don't want to use one of our days with that little bit of time, so we thought about going to the Contemporary to view the fireworks. Is the only area to view the fireworks (high up for good views) at the Contemporary located at the California Grill? Next, must you be a CG patron to view the fireworks from the observation area?

Thanks!

We just returned from the CR. There is a sign in the elevator area that says the 15th floor observation deck is for guests of the CG only. With that being said, there is an observation deck on the 4th floor that is open for MK firework viewing. I cannot comment on the view from their. We were lucky enough to get a room on the MK side of the tower.

Hope this helps.

We saw the fireworks from the 4th floor outside deck on .. Thursday, I think. We tried all three monorail resorts for fireworks viewing last week. You definitely need to get to the deck about 30 minutes early, as it was CROWDED by the end. We got there 25-30 minutes early and were able to get a chair. The view was good, except the perspective made it look like the fireworks were going off over Space Mountain as opposed to the castle. You can also probably go up in the outside stairwells that are on the RIGHT hand side of the deck (as you're looking out to the MK). We didn't see anyone up there, but it would be a good view, though without a seat.

We went in March of this year and went up the CG on the 15th floor and had no problem with getting on the deck to watch the show. They seemed to be happy to have none CG guests up there. I even had my kids in there strollers. Just get there 30mins early because it also gets crowded! Have fun and enjoy the beautiful view from the 15th floor. :earseek:

Thanks for the great replies. I was hoping there would be an observation area other than the CG. I didn't like the idea of traipsing the four of us through a restaurant while people are eating just to watch the fireworks.

My wife and I are going to CG for a "Parent's Night Out." If you need to be on the observation deck a half an hour before the show starts, how do you do that while you are eating?

Thanks again.
