Contempo Cafe at CR now open for business - Menu, Pix, and more

I wonder why they didn't post any prices

From the Allears.net menu page.....

Menu Date: November 2008

IMPORTANT:
Prices are NOT on the menu board at the restaurant entrance.
Prices are on the self-service kiosks as you place your order,
and there are price variations depending on what you order –
for example depending on what cheese you have on a cheeseburger.

Adults go to Disney, too. Not everything is supposed to be kid friendly, and don't forget that MK is a stone's throw from there to get something for your kids. I think the menu is an improvement. It is a delux resort, it should have a better-than-average CS option for those who would want it. Grown ups can't live on chicken fingers and below average burgers.

I normally try to avoid conflict on these boards but in this case I feel differently. As a mother (and one who travels to Disney frequently both by myself and with my daughter) I feel that all of the counter services in the hotels should offer kid friendly foods. Many parents want to be able to run out of the room and grab something quick for their children. Not take the monorail (or walk) to the MK for a quick lunch, etc. Especially those parents who don't always buy park hopper passes.

I also agree that the CS locations should offer more variety and upscale options. I am just playing the other end of the equation.

I think that a lot of the more kid friendly items are in the preprepared cold storage cases. I can't imagine that the full extent of their offerings have been posted.

You don't believe the food hasn't been "kidified" to death the last 5-7 years?

Absolutely! Kids are often well taken care of at the world. I was just stating that if the menu that was posted was "it" there would be many unhappy parents out there. My dd will eat just about anything (sushi, salad, chicken, etc). She hates burgers and most pizzas....go figure :confused3

WOW it looks really nice. I love the chairs. very cute. Touch screens are very cool.

I had lunch there today. i had the turkey BLT with their homemade potato chips. It was very good. It consists of toasted multi grain bread, shaved turkey breast, chedder cheese, bacon, lettuce ,tomato and a special mayo. It was good. The Tempo cafe reminds me of Captn. Cooks at the polynesian. As in Capt Cooks you place your oreder on a touch screen computer, then it gives you a receipt, then you go to a cashier to pay, then the cashier gives you one of those buzzer things that vibrates when your order is ready. They also have serve your self sodas, coffee, etc, a refrigerated area where you can choose other items and a serve your self baked good section. They have a wonderful looking black forest cupcake that i wanted to try but didnt.
Thank you for posting your review.

I don't think that the kids picks aren't kid friendly.

Kid’s Picks
Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza, Mini-Turkey and Cheese Sandwich, Chicken Nuggets, or Hamburger

Seems pretty much like the standard kid fare for Disney.

I saw that on allearsnet, but still, they could've put the prices for some of the items and then the disclaimer that it could be a bit more or less depending on which options you choose.

Thanks for posting the kids menu. I think it's great and my kids would love anything on that menu!:thumbsup2

Ate there today. Food was good. Of course they are still working out a lot of bugs since they just opened but had no problems or long waits. As people have said it's like the ordering screens at capt cooks. Ordered the caesar salad and the options pop up to have the dressing tossed in, on the side or non at all! Easy Peasy 123sy!! The multigrain roll the cheeseburger came on was very dry but other than that the soup, caeser salad, and my hot turkey sandwich was great!

Was there an option for a regular bun for the cheeseburger? Just trying to get an idea of the choices they give you.

The Caesar looks good, if the dressing is good. (That's almost always what it comes down to.) It's good that they give you the dressing options. (I love having it mixed in. :thumbsup2 )

They didn'tgive any option for a different type of roll for the burger. The dressing was really good on the caeser and I had it mixed in!

<<<they could've put the prices for some of the items and then the disclaimer that it could be a bit more or less depending on which options you choose.>>>
The menu board does not have the prices listed. When you order on the touch screen the price for the item you are ordering appears at that time, so you don't know the cost of any item until you order it.

We will stop by next week and try it out. Looks interesting. I am wondering what the noise factor will be on the concourse - it's always crazy, but now with the arcade and this - wow.

I can't tell from the pictures - is the Outer Rim gone?

Well the only noise you would get is from Chef Mickey's if you we were eating there during breakfast and dinner hours. So if you went during the afternoon and etc there won't be any noise. Besides that the arcade is on the other side of the 4th floor inside the old Fantasia store and is sound proof because of the doors which lead into it. Finally the Outer Rim Lounge is going to be re-built where they use to have the Tempo Grab & Go, however not sure when that construction will start.
