Contempo Cafe at CR now open for business - Menu, Pix, and more

I feel this is a let down just like the Wave Very disappointing. Well I guess I won't be making any trips to the CS this time around nothing worth going there for. I've done Chef Mickeys already. Boy I sure will miss the Concourse Steakhouse. It was well worth a trip to CS but not anymore. The Wave menu is awful.
I really liked the Wave when I had lunch there. I hope to try dinner there on my next trip.

I really want to eat lunch there, some of those sandwiches sound really good. So do the banana-caramel waffles at breakfast.

While I think the menu looks fine for our trip, I do wish there were more non-fussy/"comfort food" items on the menu.

Yeah, what's up with Disney going to all these weird "nouveau" foods for counter service? So many sauces, etc. Some people (like my family) literally can't eat that stuff without getting ill. We have to have plain, basic food. What happened to normal grilled chicken sandwiches? You used to be able to get them everywhere, and they're very healthy as fast food goes. Now, only a few CS places still serve them.

Ugh.

Mmmmmm... the menu looks great! I get sick of burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips, and fries pretty quickly, so CC looks like a great restaurant for me! :)

Honestly, I don't agree. Disney just does a great job of disguising common foods with names so they sound better than they actually are.
Many of the "weird" or "fancy" CS foods are easily transformed into "plain" foods by eliminating condiments or dressings. They still contain turkey, roast beef, or ham lunch meat. As for those who don't like multigrain bread, they also have ciabatta and challah, which are white. I'm sure you can substitute.

I'm sure you can get stuff without the sauces or whatever. Just ask.

One more question, does the drink machine have Pibb Xtra? They had it at the Food & Fun Center, however it was not at the Tempo Grab & Go. So just wondering if someone knows this or not?

I'm sorry, but if you haven't ever had to ask for a substitute, then you don't know. It hasn't been our experience at all. Often, many items are premade or substitutions cannot be made. Believe me, we've tried. We usually have to go to sit-down places to get things prepared in a way we can eat them.

According to the Jack Spence blog.....

Disney has tried to anticipate every possible option a guest might request. For example, if you order a Caesar Salad, the screen will give you the choice of having the dressing mixed into the greens, served on the side, or omitted completely. If you order a hamburger, you’re given the choice of four cheeses. Depending on the choices you make, the price of an item may change and this is reflected in a running total on the right side of the screen. Once you’ve finished making your selections, a receipt is printed for you to take to the cashier. Currently, a host or hostess is on hand to help you figure out the system – but I found it easy to navigate.

After reading his blog I can tell that they have kept the different soup of the day, because that's what they had at the Food & Fun Center and the Tempo Grab & Go. Personally my favorite one is the Chicken Corn Chowder and it's good to see they still have it.

Really enjoyed The Wave & they have a great wine flight list.

We will be doing it again!

I agree that it looks much better from an adult standpoint, but it isn't overly "kid friendly". The Food & Fun Center menu was limited.

Adults go to Disney, too. Not everything is supposed to be kid friendly, and don't forget that MK is a stone's throw from there to get something for your kids. I think the menu is an improvement. It is a delux resort, it should have a better-than-average CS option for those who would want it. Grown ups can't live on chicken fingers and below average burgers.

I had lunch there today. i had the turkey BLT with their homemade potato chips. It was very good. It consists of toasted multi grain bread, shaved turkey breast, chedder cheese, bacon, lettuce ,tomato and a special mayo. It was good. The Tempo cafe reminds me of Captn. Cooks at the polynesian. As in Capt Cooks you place your oreder on a touch screen computer, then it gives you a receipt, then you go to a cashier to pay, then the cashier gives you one of those buzzer things that vibrates when your order is ready. They also have serve your self sodas, coffee, etc, a refrigerated area where you can choose other items and a serve your self baked good section. They have a wonderful looking black forest cupcake that i wanted to try but didnt.

Thanks for the review! Can a CS credit from the DDP be used here?
