I don't remember ever getting an email from DCL about how to contact concierge. We booked a concierge stateroom and I'm wondering if it is too early to contact them about what day formal night would be, requesting a dining rotation etc for our 5 night double dip cruise? Our cruise is in early June 2017.

In our experience, shoreside concierge starts taking requests 125 days prior to cruise

It is a little early to contact them, I am not even sure that they would have that information yet. As Tobikaye said you will get a phone call/email around the 130 day mark to remind you about getting your requests in and to answer any questions.

yes they usually wait to 130 days before the cruise date to reach out to you, stating something like this:

Dear (name) Party:
We would like to welcome you to our Disney Cruise Line Concierge Family!
Sailing on the Disney (Ship) on (Date), Reservation # (number)
As a Concierge Guest, your services begin even before you board the ship. The Shoreside Concierge Services team can begin to accept requests for calendar reminders and offer you personalized service in planning the details of your cruise beginning 125 days (125 Day Date here) prior to your sailing. Pre-arranged services include:
•Port Adventures

•Adult dining reservations at Palo

•Spa services/treatments

•Nursery reservations

•Dining time requests

•Special occasions and celebration planning

•Transportation

•Assistance with special requests

The Concierge booking window opens at 120 days (120 Day Date here again) prior to sailing. On this day, the ShoresideConcierge team will assist in booking your requested activities provided your reservation is paid in full. Please note requested services are booked in the order in which they are received, and it is possible that some services may not be available.

The Disney Cruise Line Shoreside Concierge Services team is available Monday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., EST. We can be reached at1-866-784-1654 or by email at DCL.Concierge.Services@disneycruise.com.

Call or send an email at the 125 day mark with you requests and that is where they take over. Then you will receive an email with what they secured for you at 120 day and ask you for any changes you need.

has anyone heard of any problems with people not getting what they wanted? I wonder if I should just book stuff myself at 120 days in the morning to make sure it happens?

If you want a cabana you need to make that request at 125 days. You should be fine doing everything else yourself at 120 days.

Just make the requests at 125 days and should be fine. That morning check your account online you may already see all the choices there. If not book it and done.

That's what we ended up doing on our last cruise...I sent in our request for a SB Cabana and when the booking window opened I saw that it had not been booked by the onshore team so I went ahead and booked it myself. The cruise prior to that we sent in the request for a Family Beach Cabana and it was booked by them with no issues.
