My DW and I are taking a NO KIDS anniversary trip to WDW October 20-25 and staying in a BLT studio with MK view. This will be our second DVC visit. My guide told me before to call him when we are coming down for a special occasion. Should I let him know? And what can he do for us? Thanks.
All guides are different. Our guide ALWAYS calls and leaves a message on the phone. (I swear DVC's computer is tied into the motion detector on the thermostat so they can call when they know you wont answer)
Some guides are never heard from again, but I would say to let your guide know and find out! The worst thing is you get nothing.

I would be willing to bet there is a way for them to send a message straight into the voice mailbox of your room phone. That way the phone never rings, but the light blinks with a message.

I'd call your guide. You may just get a little "thank you". We called ours when we got to the BLT in September (our 1st as DVC owner) and our guide had some fast passes sent over!

I am not sure what your guide can do for you but I will let them know ASAP in case they might be out of the office a few days before you arrive. I suggest the sooner the better letting them know.
