Just a heads up we stopped at the Wedding Pavilion yesterday as we are getting married there on Friday and they have put up a scrim behind the bridge leading to the pavilion. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry. I am so dispointed. I can't post any pictures but will put one up on the Facebook page if I can figure out how from my phone. It sure isn't the nicest thing Disney has done, we all felt it was quite tacky. We are hopefully going back today to make sure there is no actual construction going on as there were construction entrance signs and many more walls up than just 2 weeks ago when friends were visiting. Will keep everyone posted.

We are determined not to let this ruin our wedding but it was a complete shock that this had happened. We will have something to say to dftw at some point because this just wasn't right as we had been told everything had been stopped until January.

Oh no! No worries, it will work out. I know it's disappointing but you have so much to look forward to, you'll be married in less than a week!!! :goodvibes

I would definitely say something maybe when you drop off all your boxes or even before then, shoot your planner an email and let her know you're fired up already! Maybe it's a quick something they're doing and it'll come down by Friday- orr maybe theyre prepping to put something prettier there by Friday. They do amazing things overnight, you never know!!

Sending pixie dust your way!! :wizard::wizard::wizard:

When we were there for our wedding last month, we were told actual construction got delayed until after the first of the year. I thought the walls would really bother me, but with everything going on I really didn't have time to notice. Enjoy your day!

I have the same sentiments. We got married under 3 weeks ago and I barely even cared about the walls (and trust me, I was completely worked up about them months ago with the rest of the brides and grooms). There just isn't time to be frustrated with it when you have so many smiling faces waiting for you at the end of the bridge. I even wanted a photo with the wall just to make fun, but didn't even have time to go near them!

I am still sad over the photos I can never have, and no, the scrim is tacky (they shouldn't be making it look like it used to when the whole purpose of the wall is not a renovation, but complete change of landscape - it is almost mocking us), but honestly, the day goes by in such a flash, the walls will barely be a blip on the radar of your fabulous day!

Good luck and best wishes for your wedding and marriage!

This is so much worse than the plain walls!

Now, I'm annoyed!

Yeah, honestly, I'd rather see the walls. That wrinkly mural is AWFUL.

Alright when we finally saw signs of construction I was annoyed but wasn't going to be bothered, when they finally admitted to construction I shrugged it off and took some deep breaths, when I saw the white walls I was relieved that it wasn't too bad and tried to focus on being postive and I was getting married in Disney, now I see the mural that was painted by the day care kids and put up by disney characters using elmers glue and I'M MAD!!! :scared1::headache::headache::headache::mad::mad: I'm running out of ticked off emoticons!!!!

Oh gosh, I just noticed that the construction wall is in the mural! How dumb is that? The scrim draws too much attention to itself.

Sorry to be the beare of bad news guys! It totally sucks. I too got over the walls and realized they did the best they could with a bad situation. Worst part is we had switched locations after all this happened and then just recently went back to the wedding pavilion because we had been told everything was haulted until January. It is so upsetting. They have just ruined things even more at the WP. I'm not sure why the couldnt continue the walls and bushes. Everything will be great wedding wise it's just truly disappointing to see how Disney treats there brides. I spoke with someone this morning about things and they just don't care nor do they understand. But on a happy note I am marrying the man of my dreams and nothing will ruin that!

Going back tomorrow and will be taking more photos and posting on Facebook.

I too plan on driving the 30 mile drive from my home in east orlando to go take pictures of the scrim. I need to see if for myself before I make too much of a fuss.

I'll be able to post pictures onthe fb page from my phone but not to here unfortunately :( but I think almost every bride is on the fb page now so shouldn't be too much of a hassle

Oh goodness. I plan to be there on Dec. 17...My niece is doing the Princess tea party at the GF. I may just side track to see it for myself. <sigh> Disney does like to keep us on our toes!

If they are holding off until Jan., does anyone know when they are supposed to be finished? My date is June 30, 2012. As it gets closer, I'm wondering what the heck it will look like by then... :sad2:

So pissed about this. How are we supposed to do pictures for a staged exit? I emailed my planner immediately.

I e-mailed my coordinator immediately after reading this thread. They never mentioned that there would be construction near the wedding pavilion when we started booking! Sad to say it will still look terrible for our wedding as well in November 2012. She sent me a picture of what the stage is supposed to look like by December 2012 and there will still be cranes and things visible by the wedding pavilion...so mad they never mentioned anything from the beginning!

I urge everyone who is getting married in the next few months to call Disney and complain. This is absolutey rediculous and hideous. Leave the blue walls. We all got over that didn't we? This I just can't get passed. The only way they can reconsider if they get a bunch of phone calls protesting this. Even if nothing comes of it, at least we can say we tried.

I really think they should push the walls back a few feet. They are so close to the bridge! Its claustrophobic. I know its a bad situation, but it might help a little bit.
