Construction still going on at BCV?

Is construction still going on at BCV? I thought they were all done, but when I was there last week to see the model, I saw 3 workers moving 3 toilets around on a dolly cart....there were several workers behind them.

When is construction due to be completely finished?

Hi AnnieT,

Don't know when refurbishment of the BC rooms is scheduled to be completed but they were still working as of Friday, the 31st. Every day we saw them wheeling out beds, toilets, tables and mattresses on the shortcut sidewalk to Epcot. Even saw them about 10pm one evening. Never saw any construction going on except for the slide at SAB.

Candlelady you and I were at Disney at the same time! I was at VWL from 1/21-1/31! I unfortunately could not find any green ribbon before I left, but looked for green ribbons and found none!

Anyhow, are they refurbishing the Villas, or the BC? These workers were definitely working around the villas, and some of the villas looked empty...I was just wondering if all the rooms are able to be occupied?

Ah, you're one of those that don't sport the infamous lime green ribbon! lol. I use curl sheen ribbon by Hallmark. Seems to be the closest to lime green. I have a roll packed in my Disney bag and it's even tied to the handles of all my luggage. I didn't spot anyone either, but someone spotted mine as we were having breakfast at Cape May before we left yesterday.

As far as I know, there is no construction at the villas. They are brand new so I wouldn't think they would need any refurbishment. We stayed at the BC for 2 nights before moving over to the villas. They were definitely working there, but I'm pretty sure they were closing off hallways as we saw signs, but no actual workers inside. As I said in my other reply, they were using the sidewalk on the Epcot side of the BC to transport the furniture and commodes. This sidewalk goes past the back side of the villas I believe. If I'm mistaken, I'm sure someone will correct me.

The only thing I know of that they are doing at the Villas right now is that they are just about finished replacing the full size sofa beds with queen size beds in the second bedroom of 25 of the dedicated 2 bedroom villas. The only thing I can think of if they were replacing toilets is that maybe it was a maintenace issue with a few of the toilets.

Yes, that's where they were, on the back sidewalk by EPCOT. Maybe it was the BC they were going to, although they seemed to be headed in the opposite direction. Oh well....

Candlelady, too bad we didn't get to meet you. I looked for lime green ribbon right before I left, but the craft store only had a sort of pine green color. I did meet Maistre Gracey and his lovely wife and sister though.... We were having drinks in France on Thursday around 5:00....you could have joined us!

Darn, wish I had known. We were just leaving MGM around 5 and walking back to the villas. I left for Epcot around 6:30 pm for my last walk around WS and Illuminations. (I also ate two extra crispy funnel cakes by myself, but don't tell anyone).
