Come on peachgirl, I'm sure that you knew exactly what she was saying.

But in case you didn't, are you saying that between the two of them, a gay couple does have all of the "necessary parts" for reproduction?

I am going to call the honorable Clinton & Schummer and tell them to vote for it. A lot of good that will do. Even though the formers husband signed the Federal Law which defined marriage as union between a man and a woman. However I am not against Gays, I just think that marriage is between a Man and a Women. In that respect I feel that the benefits of Marriage should not be passed on to same sex couples. There are a lot of ramifications concerning Health Benefits, Social Security, Tax questions and such Currently we have townships that are defying State Law if they don’t agree with it. How are Corporations to deal with different laws across the states with regards to benefits for employee’s dealing with Health and Life Insurance.

Ya' think?

Actually, I'm not sure at all with this particular poster. I wouldn't be surprised if she thinks "they" all have 3 eyes and webbed feet.

I actually agree with her on this one...... Some people should never have help when it comes to reproducing....;)

It's really nice of you to come to the defense of your pal though...

Lol, the poster lost me on the thing about health insurance and fertility treatments. I was sure hoping that some rational person would jump in.

Thank you:D

You know - until you can relate to the issue of infertility and all of the heartache that goes along with it - step out and keep your closed opinion to yourself!

I feel sorry for your pain, but maybe you could offer us the same courtesy and do the same for gay and bisexual people.:sunny:

Actually, she's not my pal - I think today is the first time I've even read any of her posts.

Lol, the poster lost me on the thing about health insurance and fertility treatments.

It's really very simple, try to keep up.

She is saying that heterosexual couples with fertility problems are unable to have their insurance companies pay for IVF. But, she says that homosexual couples are able to have their IVF paid for by insurance, and she thinks that is unfair.

I have no idea whether her assertions are correct or not.

You know - - there will always be people that oppose certain things - but that is what it means to be an American.

You have the freedom of speech - I'm sorry I don't agree with the alternate lifestyle, but the comment that Peach made to heart -

It felt as if it were a personal attack on me because I don't agree with Peach - which means I shouldn't be able to reproduce because "some people should never have help when it comes to reproducing".

Well, yeah, I got that part!

I wanted to know the "Is it true part!"

Oh buddy? ;)

Lets not talk about it, if it offends her though. I really wouldn't want her to have her feelings hurt.:D

AF - I am not talking about the insurance that the military has - I am talking about the insurance that I personally carried with a big 3 automaker.

They added a stipulation for "life partners" and paid for fertility treatment for individuals that unable to obtain a pregnancy naturally. The said insurance co. stated that a "couple that consisted of a man and a woman" did not need help acheive a pregnancy, because it could be acheived naturally.

I know that WV and Peach will ask for the name of this insurance company and or the company I was employed with, but I don't feel they need to know where I worked at.

Also, this is the first day I have read any of AF post.

Keep big government out of it. I personally believe in marriage
being between a man and a woman, but that doesn't mean
the federal government should be legislating it.

Keep it a state issue, just like Bush said in the 2000 primary,
as well as Cheney echoing the same.....or have they flip-flopped
in an election year;)

What was it you said to me in another post....

You know what you can do with it???

Sorry, despite your desires that no one speak who disagrees with you, it ain't gonna happen..

It's difficult to feel sympathy and understanding for those who have so little of it for others themselves.....

"some people should never have help when it comes to reproducing".

Hold up there just a sec....isn't this exactly what you think, that some people should not get assistance when it comes to reproducing?

Then that means that gay couples should not have fertility practices paid for because they lack all of the parts necessary to have children;

Those few are not the only ones who will ask for proof because that sounds like complete BS.

Sure each couple will have to prove they need the help (and it would be easier for the gay couple to do so) but after proof is found, there is usually help available. If your carrier is actually different, let's see it, because I (maybe we) don't buy it.

Again - peach - you are taking my words out of context -

I said they should not get "special treatment" which means they should not have IVF paid for because they can't acheive a pregnancy naturally.

If you give one person "special treatment" then shouldn't you give the other's the same special treatment when it comes to reproduction???

I am straight in a straight marriage, but, I can't have IVF paid for . . . now turn this around . . . If I were with a life partner, then IVF would be paid for (special treatment)

Those few are not the only ones who will ask for proof because that sounds like complete BS.

::yes::

I know, maybe she could just quote what the insurance company said....;)

you are taking my words out of context

Now that would be an awful thing to do, wouldn't it?

Have to go with the majority on this one. It simply sounds absurd.

"taking words out of context" now who would ever do that?????

Wednesday, the United States Senate and Congress will vote
on wether to introduce a constitutional amendment banning
same sex marriage.

They will not ban same sex marriage. What they will do, basically, is define the word 'marriage'. Not REDEFINE, but merely define it again for all the folks that don't understand it's meaning.

It's a word from the 14th century. We all know the definition. The definition contains the term "man" & "woman".

Would there be disagreement if they wanted a constitutional amendment defining the term "chicken & rice", as "chicken & rice"?
I don't think so. But, if a few states wanted to define "chicken & rice" as "chicken & cole slaw", well, maybe we'd want that amendment.
