We are booked to stay at BWV for a late August, early Sep two week stay. All of you have inspired me to consider switching to Universal. But I don't get this, I have booked Boardwalk villas, a 2 bedroom villa for $505 per night (with AAA discount). But it looks like to get something comparable at Universal (a suite with a living area and 2 separate bedrooms), we will have to pay something like $1000. Am I missing something?

Or is it normal for HRH and PBH to be double the price of comparable Disney accomodations? Or am I missing some rate or looking in the wrong place! I guess we will stay at Disney for now...

You are trying to compare apples to oranges. Loews hotels are luxury hotels. DVC accommodations are timeshares/condo type place.

Go to each resorts website and compare photo's and room diagrams.

The villa suite is much larger and nicer than a 3 bedroom villa at BWV.

BWV will have a whirlpool bath and balcony. You may get a balcony with a villa suite but none have whirrlpool baths.

Why not spend some time at both. If you are going to Universal stay at PBH so you can get front of the line access in the parks.

Did you try the AAA discount at Universal?

The difference in price is worth it. You'll "feel" like part of the action and enjoy the stay much more.

The suites get expensive. Have you checked rates for two standard rooms?? That might work out to be less money.

As has already been stated, you are comparing apples to oranges. Try checking the rates for a two bedroom suite in a Disney deluxe hotel, not DVC, to the rates at Universal and I believe you will find Universal to be lower in cost. Universal does not offer onsite, timeshare accomodations.
