Considering renting dvc and lots of questions...help please!

My husband and I are thinking about renting dvc points for our next trip in June 2019, but we have lots of questions. We have narrowed our resort down to BLT or Poly if we are lucky enough to get it. My husband has found a place that he is interested in renting from, and now just waiting until we are 11 months out to actually book. Anyway, our questions are more in regards to buying the dining plan and tickets. I know we can add on the dining plan and tickets without a problem. However, we were wanting to use our Disney card to buy the tickets since we will have lots of points by then. If we rent DVC and buy the dining plan through that, but buy tickets using the Visa points, will we still get Magic Bands, and can we still book fastpasses? Also, can we link the tickets to the Magic Bands on a MDE account, or how do we go about linking the tickets onto the Magic Band since we will buy them separately? We have always just booked a package, and now I'm a tad confused about how to go about getting everything we need with the best deal possible. Thanks for your help, and any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you have a resort stay - any resort stay - you will receive magic bands because you're a guest at a Disney resort. Your magic bands are linked to your MDE account, and not any specific ticket or resort reservation, so as long as you link your tickets to MDE, you will be able to make FP+ at 60 days and your bands will work for everything.

Nothing is ON your Magic Band. It is all in your MDE account. Your Magic Band is to MDE as your debit card is to your bank account. It allows access to the account contents.
When you buy your tickets there will be a serial number that you enter in MDE to link those tickets to your account and then they will be accessed by your Magic Band.
I do not know if third party ticket dealers will allow you to pay will Visa points though. I actually doubt it.

You'd have to buy Disney tickets directly through Disney with your Disney Visa reward points. It's like a Disney gift card. By doing so, they will also automatically link in MDE and you'll be able to book fast passes as well. When renting DVC points, there's no benefit to buying your tickets with the broker too, for the ones that offer that. It's just easier to buy them through WDW.
