I spoke with my guide today. I have all the details now about down payment, etc. I did not ask her this - what if you are turned down completely - do you get the $500 deposit back? We make a nice income, but our credit is not great. I have heard that that may still approve you with a larger down payment.

Who has seen Saratoga Springs? Is it truly nice? Does it compare to the other WDW resorts? Kinda scary buying sight unseen, but the price goes up in June and I won't be there until after that. Does anyone have pictures?

Yes, you will get your $ back. Even if are approved and do not close, you still get your $ back.

the rooms are very upscale--nicely decorated. Location is right accross from Downtown Disney. Disney may ask for 30% down, but I have read they do not turn people down.

Antonia, we are also considering buying into SSR. Maybe we'll be "neighbors"

You won't be turned down. My DD was approved, and she had TERRIBLE credit! What they do if your credit is bad is they require a larger amount as a down payment. DD had to put down 30%. If you stay current on your payments, it won't show up on your credit report, either.

We visited SSR about 10 days ago, we are planning on buying there, waiting for our guide to call us back to give her the deposit. I have not visited any of the other DVC resorts but we were overwhelmed with SSR. It is beautiful. I wish that it was one of the ones that was close to Epcot or MGM but it doesn't matter. The resort is unbelievable. I will try and find some of the websites that I have found so you can see the pictures. The 2 bedroom villa is unbelievable and the Grand Villa takes your breath away..... The pool is very nice, they have a community hall for the kids to do activities in.. there is a bar near the pool for the adults.... The Artist Palette is a little restaurant that is on site. It's right across the street from DTD.

If you want email me and I will share what ever info I have... I've been researching this for about 10 days STRAIGHT, lol... My children tell me that I am obsessed but I dont' care. We've found a place that we can easily visit at Least once a year.. My youngest is 4 so we will be visiting WDW for a long time... I'm also looking forward to the time when my almost 17 year old has a family of her own and we can all go down together. I know people say that you shouldn't consider it as an "investment" , but I consider it an investment in my Family!!!!!

Rooms at SSR are very nice and we were impressed with how quiet it was. Even with the fireworks right across from our room, we heard nothing!

We toured SSR last summer and bought in without seeing any of the "other" dvc resorts.

We just loved it. We live in a very rural area and liked the sort of "downtown-ish" feeling of SSR.

(Ok, so our first trip on points will be to BCV , but that's the great thing about DVC, we can try lots of different places. My husband does keep complaining to me that we aren't really "going home" on this, our virgin DVC trip.)
