Considering AP purchase now -Will I lose FP+ that I have already booked for March?

I've tried to research this question on this board and the official Disney site, but cannot find the answer for this situation.

I have two onsite trips planned in 2015 - March 2-6 and June 4-7 and I have purchased 4 day park hoppers for both trips. I booked Room Only discounts for both March and June trips.

I stayed up late on New Years Eve (well, 2am New Years Day) and was able to make my fast pass selections for the March 2 trip.

Now I am considering purchasing an annual pass but if I do so now, will I lose my existing FP +?

My thoughts are that I should purchase the AP vouchers now, add them to my MDE account and then cancel the existing tickets I have. I know I won't activate the vouchers until I arrive on March 2.

Does anyone know if I am on the right track?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I honestly don't know.

But can you cancel tickets that are not part of a package? I thought the only way out of tickets was if you had a package and canceled your trip, otherwise tickets are non-refundable (although you can transfer them to someone on your family & friends list).

You could upgrade to an AP during your March trip, converting your 4 day MYW PH to an AP (you would just pay the difference between the price of the 4 day ticket and the price of the AP). Of course that still leaves you the issue of the other 4 day ticket in your MDE account.

I'm interested to see what people who know more than me have to say about your issue.

Thank you for your response.

I added the tickets while purchasing the room discount on the Disney site, so that turned it into a MYW package, I guess, so I may be in the clear for tickets for the June trip if I cancel and rebook.

I think I'll be okay if I just upgrade while there in March, but was hoping to have "things in hand" prior to going.

In September I booked a room only reservation. I upgraded tickets that I purchased through AAA. My husband and I went to a park the first day after we checked in and had the tickets upgraded to an annual pass. The tickets were price bridged (cost of annual pass minus the gate price for the tickets I had previously purchased). We had a weeks worth of fast passes and didn't lose any. In December I did the same for my kids. These tickets were purchased from Disney after I had booked a room only reservation. Purchasing the tickets after the ro reservation did not make it a package. We went to customer service and had the tickets upgraded again (paying the difference from the original ticket and the cost of the annual pass) and again did not lose the fast passes that were already chosen. I believe you can do the same if you did book a package deal but someone more experience can certainly verify that.

Thank you, this helps a lot!
