Consider Pre-ordering if dining at BOG!

Last time we ate at BOG for lunch, we did the FP thing and they lost our order. Do they do a better job of tracking it now that it's part of MDE?

I only have my one party to speak for, but all our orders were there! The only odd thing was that it was about $5 more than what it said on MDE. Sucker tax I think

Thanks for this information. I will be preordering our breakfast and lunch for our ADRs there next month. Sounds like it will save a lot of time.

Was it easy to make requests, such as no spinach?

Also, wondering if anyone on the DDP has had the chance to see about subbing the soup for the dessert for lunch? I would prefer this, but not sure how it will work with the preorder. Do you confirm your order before you pay, and are you able to make any changes at that point?

We preordered about 10:30am for our 11:30am lunch in May when we were there. While we had done it so close we did not need to make any changes our line was definitely shorter. Even if you preorder you can continue to make changes to the order until very soon before your actual ADR time. We were able to delete items (like a sauce from snadwiches) without any problem. There was an allergy menu to choose from when we preordered as well.

I have preordered for my 1:05 reservations in a couple of weeks. How do you know which line to bypass? Is there a band scanner at the gates, or do you have to check in with people? Will people in line give you a hard time for trying to find out whether you have to suffer with them? (I'm thinking the preorder line is going to grow now! Ha-ha!)

Last July we just walked right in for lunch, though at 11:30. No reservations and no lines, so things have really changed.

This was the way it worked late last Fall. It may have changed since then. if it has changed, hopefully someone will update this info. When you approach the Castle (restaurant) near the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train Ride, there will be a moderate line and 2 or 3 Castmembers checking magic bands already. Please don't get into the line more than 10 mins before your ADR or you will be turned away & asked to return closer to your time. Let them know you have an ADR, your name & time, and they will direct you to a nearby kiosk/hut with more Castmembers. They will look up your name & ADR and then tell you to go ahead over the bridge. On the other side of the bridge, you will be met by another CM who will scan your magic band and then direct you to the appropriate line. Tell that CM if you have pre-ordered or not. They should ask you at that point. Does it take time? Yes. Is it worth it? Probably at least once or twice. Enjoy!

Just wanted to make a Disney Dining Public Service Announcement.

Had an ADR for BOG for lunch last week. When we walked up to the gates of the castle, we were shocked to see the long line stretching out of the castle. I thought, what is the point of making the ADR? That was the line though if you did not pre-order your meal. Fortunately I did pre-order and it was so easy!!! We just walked past everyone, paid, and sat down. Food magically appeared within 5-10 minutes.

That was my experience in October too. We had not preordered and when I saw the line I almost started crying because were too hungry to wait there for an hour. SO I logged in online to the old BOG FP site, added my preorder, and was able to go right in!

Definitely preorder!

I am not sure what we are doing wrong. We have been to lunch twice and pre-ordered both times. We always get stuck in a long slow line in the inside along the hallway with the knights armor.

We liked BOG for dinner but for us, never again for lunch. No, we did not pre-order and stood in a long hot line, then when we finally got through we had to hunt for a table for 7, which took forever, and then we had to get our own tableware and drinks. It is a cafeteria at sit down table prices.

When we approach the castle they have asked us if we pre-ordered. We wait in the long line, scan our bands at a kiosk and then are told we can find a table. Maybe I will press the issue next trip and ask the cast member to confirm we are in the pre-order line.

Prices don't look much worse than Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills to me and you have to find your own table, cutlery and sauces at both of those counter service too and while carrying your food on a tray.
For example chicken sandwich at Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills is $10.79 and turkey sandwich at BOG is $11.49.

I preordered last month, too. We had to wait outside for about 5 minutes before we were called. It seems like they called 3 or 4 groups at once - my exH was on a separate reservation and we were called at the t There was a very short line to pay and a pretty long line to use the kiosks.

We didn't want to order way ahead of time (I would have ordered something different a month in advance, so I am glad I waited), so we ordered an hour or two in advance while waiting in the holding area for PhilharMagic.

Does everyone in the party need to order something to make the pre-order valid (in other words, if I want to share an entree with another member of the party)

Can you customize at all on pre-order? As an example, removing cheese from an entree

I made the pre-order for all my party in one go.
No need for individuals to all enter details.

The pre order can be changed;several times before your actual adr, if you so desire.
I'm a very selective eater-and ALWAYS make substitutions in restaurants,& very happily I made my order.
And consulted dd & dh for their selections.
I just chose for ds-easier that way!!

Dd however,was very indecisive & fully intends to change her mind at least 4 times!!
