We learned these same things in my Freedom in American Society class, but this is not widely know. Democracy is purely majority rule, while a republic allows people to discuss and consider issues before they are put into law. The sad thing is that many people are not aware of the true nature of our government.

Hmmm.... maybe not the best idea.

I was actually thinking about thread titles last night and this frequent quote of Glenn's popped into my head and it certainly fits what our nation's leaders seem incapable of doing- Say What You Mean and Mean What You Say. I know we still have 30 something pages to go but we'll be starting our new thread before the weekend's out, you guys know that.

I get powered sugar everywhere everytime I eat it. But I get spaghetti sauce on me everytime I eat it, too. I'm just a little messy, I guess, and having a large "shelf" doesn't help!

I've mastered the art of the 'lean over the table and pray' technique to eating them Of course, one stiff breeze and all my effort is for not.

I was trying to figure out how to work that into a title and came up with the same thing. I don't think the quote is too long... we'd just have to see.
