Well, in the spirit of our sister thread:

1,476 Days!!!!!!!!

till Obama leaves office. :)

Hey, Obama's commerce secretary nominee — Gov. Bill Richardson — has withdrawn his name for consideration amid a pay-to-play scandal. With a grand jury looking at him for corruption, it seems he can't answer any confirmation questions because, errr, they don't allow cabinet nominees to plead the fifth.

So, we've got Obama's chief of staff embroiled in the Chicago governor's corruption, and a growing controversy over Hillary involved in pay-to-play to benefit Bill's library, and now Richardson stepping aside so he doesn't have to incriminate himself before Congress. Yup, it's gonna be a lonnnnng 4 years. Are there any dems left that aren't lining their pockets with corrupt money?

wasn't it bill richardson who, while speaking to a group of spanish speaking constituents, said, "barack obama is an immigrant"? um...yes, i do believe it was. :snooty: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=83114

That's a blast from the past! Probably one of the best trip reports ever posted :thumbsup2

Hockeymom wrote a trip report! Now, that would be a fun read....I'll have to figure out how to find that sucker....

Hey guys:

I thought about posting this as a new thread, but didn't want the aggravation from the usual suspects. The global warming hoax is a real concern for me. With two teenagers, I've seen how this generation has been utterly brainwashed into believing this crap, and I fear we'll spend billions that we don't have on bogus "responses" to global warming, and, more importantly, move to deny basic freedoms under the guise of "saving the planet" (and who could be opposed to that!). (Of course, my offspring are impervious to such brainwashing and function often as a thorn in the side of their less-than-intellectual teachers who espouse such nonsense! :rotfl: ). One of my biggest issues with John McCain was his capitulation to the global warming nuts. It really was almost a deal-breaker for me…until I considered the alternative.

Anyhoo, a poster on huffingtonpost, of all places, has posted a fairly controversial piece calling on Al Gore to "apologize" for his global warming hysteria. It's controversial because this is absolute heresy among the liberal posters at huffingtonpost. I think the fact that they posted it suggests that the global warming hoax is finally sputtering to its inevitable end. I wasn't sure I'd see this revealed for the anti-intellectual nuttiness that it is in my lifetime, but it looks like it will be. :thumbsup2

Here are some excerpts and the link:

A friend of mine was on hold with his credit card company and, while they were checking on something, the customer service rep was trying to make conversation by asking my friend about the weather. My friend told him it was quite warm, 'must be all that global warming' he said sarcastically. To which the CSR replied, 'you're right!' then went into this long explanation about the holes in the atmosphere, etc. getting more far-fetched as he went along. My friend was pretty speechless -

The whole thing truly is a belief founded on faith - no facts seem to be involved in the process. It would be interesting to find out what happens to the writer of that article. And good for him/her! It is a scary thing to go against the liberal establishment.

 Hey all! I haven't taken the time to catch up on our new digs yet so bear with me.

We got back this morning at 4am and I need to go to the stores and restock our shelves, but I'll be back! (said in my best Terminator/Arnold voice ;) )

Hope y'all had an awesome holiday! Remind me never to vacation in Florida again without an AP :headache: . Frustrating being that close to the World, and not making it over to enjoy it. Blah. Ok, gotta boogie....

Welcome back, chickie - and, when you're finished filling up your pantry, it's time to feed us. We're hungry!

loco, loco, loco - tsk, tsk, tsk - Gov Richardson probably had many other reasons why he wasn't pursuing this cabinet thing...surely it wasn't due to scandal. You know better than that - only Republicans get involved in scandals - Dems are pure as the wind-driven snow, always....and PE Obama will prove that to us, right? Nancy will too - she herself told us that her dems are the most ethical in history, right?

I know, I know. And now Team Obama says Richardson "misled" them about how dirty he actually is. Can you believe there's still room under that Obama bus for yet another supporter that has just become terribly inconvenient? When will the wheels just blow off that thing anyway?

In other news, this amused me. Obama's likeness (and it's the one with the cigarette hanging out of his mouth :rotfl: ) is being trampled on in Jakarta. Wasn't he going to part the seas, save the whales AND make the rest of the world love us? Where's the love, Jakarta? He's The One, you know?

The cold is getting really challenging...

The water in our bathroom is not working, and my DH and my DS's cars are not working...so he has to take my minivan to work tomorrow. We can't go to church, and if it isn't running by Monday, the kids' basketball and ballet won't happen either.

Hope it warms up soon! :)

OUCH I hate the cold...for me 60 is freezing:rotfl2:

IMO ALL representatives are crooked one way or the other...some worse and stand out more. Seems to me that the 101 to be a representative is to take a 101 class in how to rip off the US people for all you can get.

How some seem to think that Obama can clean house because he says he can is beyond me since he is a Chicago Politician and has acquaintances you see how I used acquaintances.... are real shady characters.

In addition Chicago Politicians are not called corrupt for nothing. As I said IMO there is not one politician that is on the up and up....the way Congress is run...seems to me that in order to get anything pushed through you cant be....you know that ...you wash my hands and I'll wash yours.....

For the sake of our country I hope he can pull it all together. I could care less if bozo the clown was in there as long as he/she does what is best for ALL the people....and not just the ones that voted for you.

In addition I am not just keeping my eye on Obama but all of them. No matter which line they stand on. They all work for us...all of us...and they need to start doing good by us or this country will separate into many countries as the Russian writer has predicted...I dont believe for a minute that that will happen but you get my point.

Theses are my thoughts for the day....and I am Got Disney and I approve this message ;) popcorn::

You'd think that bus would run out of room one of these days. Exactly how large of a bus is it?

I want to also point out that although our representatives are all ego maniacs......and not on the up and up with us I do believe that they do have good intentions, not all of them IMO but most....but they get there by not being honest. So they are corrupt in order to get done what they need to get done.......

hmmmm am i making sense here what I am trying to get across without sound hypocritical :confused3 :rotfl:

OH and by the way...I do believe in global warming but not so much as the reasons that they put forth...maybe some emissions are causing it but I believe it is just part of how the earth goes through natural changes....like the Ice age.

Also even if it turns out that it is not true, this planet could use a good cleaning up and if it means getting there by stating the world is melting than so be it. Maybe people will start thinking about what we are doing with all this pollution. Has anyone been in Los Angeles lately....YUCK!

Gee I sound grumpy today dont I...:rotfl2: I'm not but my posts are sounding very angry....:headache: :lmao:

That bus is very long with a mighty big wheel base and studded tires. :rolleyes1

we could sing that song, every time one of bho's "colleagues" is thrown under the bus. come on! EVERYBODY!!!

:rockband: party:

the wheels on o's bus go round and round,
round and round,
round and round.
the wheel's on o's bus go round and round,
you'd better watch your back.

Hey...it's warming up here. It's only -15 now. I'm not being funny...I'm being serious. That is a big improvement over yesterday.

Our friend came and fixed our water problem. My DH's car still won't start, but hopefully it will soon when it warms up.

Also, my mom called, and my step-dad's tests ruled out any big problems (praise God) but he still is not feeling well, so now they are trying to figure out exactly what it is he has, and how to treat him.

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. :goodvibes

Wow! I go away to visit family and you guys start a whole new thread!!! I'm not even going to try and catch up.

Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and a safe and Happy New Years!

Mine was cheerfully politics free, I don't think we even watched the news more than a couple of times-and that was to get the weather and tide info for the beach! :rotfl:

Hi guys! My friend's husband just left...we dismantled the carport that fell down on his boat under the weight of the snow on Christmas Eve. MAN that was a little bit of work! We thought it was made of PVC, but it was actually steel. :lmao: Busted two saws-all blades just trying to cut apart the first span of bars---the ones that came down onto the boat. Once we got that one apart and took some of the tension off the structure, we were able to take pins out and take the rest of it apart like Tinker Toys, thank goodness. It was still hard work though!

Here's a few pics in case anyone is interested. The day it came down:

The damage once we got the structure off the boat (not too bad, actually).

And this USED to be a two-story-high welding shop at my ex-MILs house. It came down the night before the carport came down on the boat. Fortunately there wasn't any welding equipment in there at the time. Nothing much lost besides the structure itself. Sorry the picture is pretty dark, it is pitch black out here at night. No street lights. (Btw, that is Frank sitting on the hood of my car  )
