My BIL emailed me this, I dont' know if it's been posted here already:

Hey, Obama's commerce secretary nominee Gov. Bill Richardson has withdrawn his name for consideration amid a pay-to-play scandal. With a grand jury looking at him for corruption, it seems he can't answer any confirmation questions because, errr, they don't allow cabinet nominees to plead the fifth.

So, we've got Obama's chief of staff embroiled in the Chicago governor's corruption, and a growing controversy over Hillary involved in pay-to-play to benefit Bill's library, and now Richardson stepping aside so he doesn't have to incriminate himself before Congress. Yup, it's gonna be a lonnnnng 4 years. Are there any dems left that aren't lining their pockets with corrupt money?

That's a blast from the past! Probably one of the best trip reports ever posted![]()
Hey guys:
I thought about posting this as a new thread, but didn't want the aggravation from the usual suspects. The global warming hoax is a real concern for me. With two teenagers, I've seen how this generation has been utterly brainwashed into believing this crap, and I fear we'll spend billions that we don't have on bogus "responses" to global warming, and, more importantly, move to deny basic freedoms under the guise of "saving the planet" (and who could be opposed to that!). (Of course, my offspring are impervious to such brainwashing and function often as a thorn in the side of their less-than-intellectual teachers who espouse such nonsense!). One of my biggest issues with John McCain was his capitulation to the global warming nuts. It really was almost a deal-breaker for me…until I considered the alternative.
Anyhoo, a poster on huffingtonpost, of all places, has posted a fairly controversial piece calling on Al Gore to "apologize" for his global warming hysteria. It's controversial because this is absolute heresy among the liberal posters at huffingtonpost. I think the fact that they posted it suggests that the global warming hoax is finally sputtering to its inevitable end. I wasn't sure I'd see this revealed for the anti-intellectual nuttiness that it is in my lifetime, but it looks like it will be.![]()

Hey all! I haven't taken the time to catch up on our new digs yet so bear with me.
We got back this morning at 4am and I need to go to the stores and restock our shelves, but I'll be back! (said in my best Terminator/Arnold voice)
Hope y'all had an awesome holiday! Remind me never to vacation in Florida again without an AP. Frustrating being that close to the World, and not making it over to enjoy it. Blah. Ok, gotta boogie....

Hockeymom wrote a trip report! Now, that would be a fun read....I'll have to figure out how to find that sucker....
A friend of mine was on hold with his credit card company and, while they were checking on something, the customer service rep was trying to make conversation by asking my friend about the weather. My friend told him it was quite warm, 'must be all that global warming' he said sarcastically. To which the CSR replied, 'you're right!' then went into this long explanation about the holes in the atmosphere, etc. getting more far-fetched as he went along. My friend was pretty speechless -
The whole thing truly is a belief founded on faith - no facts seem to be involved in the process. It would be interesting to find out what happens to the writer of that article. And good for him/her! It is a scary thing to go against the liberal establishment.
Welcome back, chickie - and, when you're finished filling up your pantry, it's time to feed us. We're hungry!
loco, loco, loco - tsk, tsk, tsk - Gov Richardson probably had many other reasons why he wasn't pursuing this cabinet thing...surely it wasn't due to scandal. You know better than that - only Republicans get involved in scandals - Dems are pure as the wind-driven snow, always....and PE Obama will prove that to us, right? Nancy will too - she herself told us that her dems are the most ethical in history, right?
) is being trampled on in Jakarta. Wasn't he going to part the seas, save the whales AND make the rest of the world love us? Where's the love, Jakarta? He's The One, you know? The cold is getting really challenging...
The water in our bathroom is not working, and my DH and my DS's cars are not working...so he has to take my minivan to work tomorrow. We can't go to church, and if it isn't running by Monday, the kids' basketball and ballet won't happen either.
Hope it warms up soon!![]()

I'm not but my posts are sounding very angry....

That bus is very long with a mighty big wheel base and studded tires.![]()

Busted two saws-all blades just trying to cut apart the first span of bars---the ones that came down onto the boat. Once we got that one apart and took some of the tension off the structure, we were able to take pins out and take the rest of it apart like Tinker Toys, thank goodness. It was still hard work though!

Hey...it's warming up here. It's only -15 now. I'm not being funny...I'm being serious. That is a big improvement over yesterday.
Our friend came and fixed our water problem. My DH's car still won't start, but hopefully it will soon when it warms up.
Also, my mom called, and my step-dad's tests ruled out any big problems (praise God) but he still is not feeling well, so now they are trying to figure out exactly what it is he has, and how to treat him.
Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts.![]()
I don't know if you all have seen this, but it's got it's funny parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWiXy55OHyY
It does poke fun at our half a bit, but the very first joke and the last 2 jokes are priceless![]()

Wow! I go away to visit family and you guys start a whole new thread!!! I'm not even going to try and catch up.
Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and a safe and Happy New Years!
Mine was cheerfully politics free, I don't think we even watched the news more than a couple of times-and that was to get the weather and tide info for the beach!![]()
