You know, I just really like this lady...
From Sarah Palin:
Palin also commented on her daughter and Johnston's new parenthood. Her daughter, Bristol, gave birth Saturday to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston. The statement ended with Palin's preference to keep the baby a private, family matter.
"We are over the moon," she said about her new grandson.
"The road ahead for this young couple will not be easy, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy," Palin said. "Bristol and Levi are committed to accomplish what millions of other young parents have accomplished, to provide a loving and secure environment for their child. They are both hard workers, they're very strong, and have faith they've made the right decision in setting aside their own interests to make this child their highest priority."
Palin added: "When Bristol and Levi first told us the shocking news that she was pregnant, to be honest, we all at first looked at the situation with some fear and a bit of despair. Isn't it just like God to turn those circumstances into such an amazing, joyful blessing when you ask Him to help you through?"
Will keep him in our prayers. Where's the boy's mom? Will she have him?
We got a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas; bought the Wii on craiglist and SIL gave us WiiFit. Really, really fun!![]()
DH is going to be looking for another job soon. We're also talking about maybe him finding a different company to work for when we move to CA; right now he's not feeling any job security with this his current company.
His brother-in-Christ, Roy, is a manager for a cellphone service provider and has offered to help him get a job with that company. He'd make decent money. It's something we're praying about.
Oh no! I hate it when my computer does that.Ugh..... I had a whole new TR update post typed up when my laptop decided it was time to install updates on the computer.... computer shut down and guess what I have to RETYPE??![]()

She is my heroine. I adore Governor Palin. Thanks for the update Deb.Well, we know southern CA (maybe in the valley?) but beyond that I'm not sure. Any ideas for good areas?i must've been asleep for, oh...i dunno...several months, but where in ca will you be moving?
Yes, he's a pastor. As for getting a church, that would be nice but I won't hold my breath.Wii Fits must have been THE gift this year - I've heard several people talking about them.
Goodness - lots of changes coming your way. You mentioned your DH being a pastor [I know he had been one at least] - is he interested in getting a church in CA, too?
Are you referring to being an associate pastor (what he was) or senior pastor?
Too bad you have to go to Houston for it though. UGH. That place gives Texas a bad name.
Dallas/Fort Worth is way nicer.Did I miss something? I was reading (can't help myself..) the liberal thread and pr-surfer mentioned something about a question as to what it means to be a liberal. Was there a poll or thread?
I find it funny that they complain about the government (Reagan specifically) taking away education funding so much so that (gasp!) they had to pay for it themselves.

You're a braver soul than I am to venture into that sludgepond....
I find it even more funny that those that supposedly are "of higher intellect" because they got said education are so sorely lacking in the common sense department. I don't have a college degree, but I think if I were to go toe-to-toe with any number of these yahoos I could more than hold my own. Sometimes the life experience you gain is worth far more than anything you can read in a book or be told by a professor.![]()
I love, love, love my surgeon. He's adorable and LOVES hockey, so we've got something in common. I knew there was a reason I picked a guy who went to McGill. It wasn't just for his skillz
Pizza dough, as requested:
5 cups of bread flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 envelope of active dry yeast [or 2 teaspoons]
1-3/4 cup of warm water
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Put the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl, mix well. Then add oil and water. Knead dough for 5-10 minutes, until dough pulls away from the sides. Form dough into ball then put into greased bowl covered with greased plastic wrap. Let rise for at least 1-1/2 hours. Punch down dough and divide into 4 parts. To freeze, wrap each part in plastic wrap then put all four parts into large freezer bag. Then you can just pull out what you need.
To make pizza, preheat oven to 450 degrees. Roll out dough onto a surface that is lightly covered with corn meal [keeps it from sticking], spread olive oil in a thin layer on rolled-out dough [makes the dough brown evenly], add your favorite toppings, slide into oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. Yummm....I love homemade pizza.
That's one of my biggest conundrums. Liberals always take this superior intellectual stance, but, ummmm they're liberals who support leftist politial policies, leftist political policies that have failed time and again. That's just not very intelligent. They think you can "talk" to terrorists. Not very intelligent. They think we'd be safer with no guns. Not very intelligent. They think the government can take more and more money from the producers, and give it to the non-producers, and that the producers will just keep on producing. Not very intelligent. They think Castro and Chavez and Che are really great guys. REALLY not intelligent. I just don't get it. It's a peculiar kind of intelligence, apparently, completely devoid of common sense. I've heard it called pseudo-intelligence. I don't know how liberal college professors espouse some of this stuff when history is right there staring them in the face. I guess it's just ideology over intellect. Ideology trumps all even reason for some folks.

Our first golden, Abbie, went to doggie heaven a little more than a year ago. She was twelve. We really miss her. Those pics are so heartwarming and would make some great digi-scrapbook pages!

I'm only just beginning to see how much these dogs get into your heart. You know - we're people too. We could be your neighbors, fellow workers, your kids' friends parents - whatever. Sludgepond?![]()
We just have a difference of philosophy in governance.
Wishing you all a happy and peaceful 2009.
Yep, he's a golden. We fell in love with a golden named Shadow a few years ago when a friend of a friend brought him camping with us. He was the best dog I ever met. My kids were always terrified of big dogs but Shadow was so sweet and gentle, they just loved him. They played with him everyday for the whole trip. On our camping trip last year Shadow had a baby brother and he was equally wonderful. That's when we decided if we ever got a dog, it would be a golden. They are such beautiful, regal dogs. The name Reagan seemed to suit him perfectly![]()
I'm sorry for the loss of Abbie.I'm only just beginning to see how much these dogs get into your heart.
