Hello everyone! You all are hilarious tonight! Silly Cons...
It's 1:30am and I just finished wrapping SOME of the gifts. I'm so darn slow. I'd wrap a few, then do a load of wash, then fold some clothes, then run upstairs to grab a bite to eat, come back down and spend 1/2 hr looking for the scissors that I was using, wrap another gift, look for the pen, find more tape because I ran out...you get the picture. I thought I was completely done with shopping, but I'm not. Darn it all. I guess I'll be heading out tomorrow morning.
Whe I travel to MIL I usually bring potatoes, they travel well. Like a sweet potatoe casserole. I also do a spinach casserole that goes well with ham.
ARTICHOKE - SPINACH CASSEROLE
1 stick butter, softened
2 sm. pkgs. cream cheese
1 can artichokes
2 boxes frozen spinach
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Progresso bread crumbs
(I also add Parm cheese and mozzarella to this)
Cook spinach according to package instructions. Stir into hot spinach the butter and cream cheese. Place mixture into 1 1/2-quart casserole; season to taste. Arrange sliced artichokes on top; cover with seasoned bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
This is so good

Kids love it - and they're picky kids, too
Debbie has good ideas with the crock pot as well.
This sounds delicious. Do you think it would survive an almost 3 hr drive? Maybe I could whip it together at my house transport it in the cooler and toss it in my MIL's oven when we get there.
And, a friend from church and I are going to Midnight Mass....should I call the church to find out what time it is?
What does one wear at a special mass?
Something nice - like church clothes. BWWWaaaa.... It varies year to year with me, sometimes I'm dressed up in my Sunday best, other times I'm in slacks and a Christmas sweater. I think one year I went to Mass in jeans. I wouldn't do that though. People don't care what you look like - just go!
Hmmm, I was wondering why I haven't seen her around anymore. Very, very interesting... Is there a chin scratching smilie?
Hmmmmmm
when i was in the college dorms (yuck!), i and some friends used to play INNOCENT practical jokes on each other. dropping a couple of tissues in the wash when they left the laundry room was one of the best (not to say least destructive).
Oh my gosh, this is hilarious. Wish I would have thought of this when I was in college.
Hey y'all... I see that you tried to run and hide in a new thread. Found you!
Yay, Zip's here!
It's been kind of crazy this weekend. My Mom fell and broke a rib (ouch!), so it looks like DW and I will be doing a bunch of the stuff my mom usually does for Christmas. I thought I was all done shopping and cooking. Just when I think I'm out they pull me back in!
I'm so sorry. I just went through something similar. My MIL had knee surgery and can't walk but didn't want help with shopping. Finally she broke down and asked for help this past weekend. The mall was a zoo.
I hope your mom is feeling better soon.
That reminds me...do you guys remember me making a comment in one of our PC discussions that my dad hates to be called a Native American and insists on being called an Indian, because (among other reasons) it allows him to tell people he is FBI (Full Blooded Indian)? I was up at the gas station at the top of my road and they had black T shirts that say FBI on them. And they had them in 2X! I bought one for him for Christmas.

He's going to laugh. I'm looking forward to giving it to him!
I don't remember the comment, but I love your dad. What a great sense of humor he has! My Dad's initials are MD, but he's a Master plumber. He tells people he's a urologist or a proctologist depending on his mood.
santa wrapped all of our presents, but i could tell he made my parents write the to/from tags.
That happened in my house too. Sometimes Santa didn't wrap gifts, but my mom was kind enough to put gift tags on the gifts for us so we'd know what belonged to whom. She must have gotten up really early to figure that out for us kids. Isn't that nice?
Santa wraps gifts for my kids and does their tags with calligraphy. It looks lovely and nothing like my handwriting.
