Conservative Thread: We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once

Good morning to my Conservative friends!

I just started a walking plan. We are walking to Jerusalem by Christmas. Well anyway I signed up and have good intentions? We'll see if I follow through. I like spending my spare time here a little too much!

I was reading a little out on the CB. I noticed something that just bothers me. Some of the OS call him Barock. I think it is too personal and even disrespectful for a President. They are supports so I don't think it is meant that way. I am old fashioned and just don't think it is right. Of course the same people won't even bother to capitalize Pres Bush so maybe I should not be surprised. I so wish we could go back to having manners and respect in this country. OK rant over!

Have a great day, maybe I'll actually get on the tred mill today.:confused3

:cool1: Looks like most of them are in the fall. We'd have almost a full year to train. :hyper: I'm getting excited!!! :woohoo:

I don't think I could do a half marathon by spring, but that's what I'm gonna shoot for. I only saw the races for 2008, was there a 2009 sched. posted?

OMG, the (read 'most OS' so as to avoid possible points) OS are pathetic. Some of the most morally and ethically and intellectually corrupt and bankrupt lot I've seen. Never thought I'd quote Nalalie Maines, but I'm not ready to make nice. If my kids acted that way, I'd be more than embarrassed.

We can't critisize the big O until he takes office, but they can genuflect all over him. They can't even capitalize a GOP name, let alone use their title, but reverently fully type out the annointed one's every time. Some of the threads out there are beyond the pale for the amount of fecal matter they post. God help me if I ever find myself sitting next to one of them on 'It's a Small World', someone is going for a swim, or worse sitting next to one at Rose and Crown with a bottle of Guinness in my hand.

OK, someone talk me down now, please.

Don't let it all get you down Christopher Robin. Think of it like a teenager in love for the first time. The love can do no wrong. Everyone must feel the same way about the love. The honeymoon will end soon enough for most. Just stay here for awhile. Reality is harsh.

a funny for today.......

For those who do not know about History: here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the Conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these Liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the *******.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:
It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.
A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to tick them off.
And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self
...

Chuckling.....

I kind of pity them really. They seem angry and very self involved. It makes them happy to talk down to people and call people names. Now when I read the Palin attack threads ( why are they still obsessed with her?) or the shrub remarks, I just laugh. It seems it's all they have.

This is a great way of describing the current state of oddness.

Some of them are just pot stirring.

We must ignore them, if they come on this thread. :thumbsup2

It's almost time for Turkey! :cool1: I'm getting a fresh Amish turkey. Yum!

Ahh Mr. Man, that one gave me a smile on an otherwise gray morning!

It really is sad that some of our friends to the left are outraged that we dont' respect their candidate of choice. Hey guys, take a page from our book: Grow some thick skin, you're gonna need it!!

Mr. Obama sure is high on himself since he created a new office...that of The Office of the President Elect.

I just had to come back and rant a bit about this. The President Elect is on TV AGAIN!!

How often do we need to hear him? Everyday? Just release this stuff to the newpaper and be done with it already. We do not need to have a press conference for every appointee. If this is what he plans to do then lets just turn CNN over to him with the understanding he can ONLY talk on CNN.

Wouldn't that be sweet???!!! Oh I wish. :3dglasses

I don't watch CNN so that'd be perfect. :goodvibes

Mr Man, that was great. I laughed the whole way through it. :happytv:

Our community has a 5k every St. Patrick's Day, so I'm going to try to be in shape by then for that one. I'll let you know how it pans out.

Does anyone have a date for one in WDW yet? One we can mark on our calendars? TNJ, did you have one in mind? popcorn::

Maybe 3 1/2 yrs? :rolleyes1 ;) (I hope you get the reference, I think you will ;) )

Ah, yes, you read my mind. Ya know it could happen. So much is happening so quickly. I was thinking about Billy G. a righteous man for our generation. God has often sought out a righteous person and those would will listen were spared (I'm thinking Noah here). Anyway, he's an old man now. There will definitely be a loss when his time comes. I can't think of who will follow his footsteps in such a big way, leading many. Anyway, it is just a thought in tough times, knowing the Bible to be true and fulfilling itself still. :)

These pictures are amazing!! What month in the year were these taken?

I'm not sure...my old computer would have the date I downloaded them, but it crashed. I pulled them off my flash drive to post them. I think it was right around this time of year.

The fishing boat photos are just crazy! What type of fishing does your cousin do exactly? I find it very interesting.

Again not sure. He's out as much as he's in...I think they fish for just about everything that swims. The only thing I can think of specifically is hake, and that's only because I'd never heard of it before he mentioned heading out for hake opening once.

OK, someone talk me down now, please.

 Disneycrazymom had it right.

There is a 1/2 in WDW (the Minnie) in March 6-8th. It also features a 5K!
Nice and flat at WDW and there is no more fun place to do a race either. WDW does them right! Here in TN there are too many hills for me! ;)

As for all the running...you guys run, and I'll cheer.

I got into trouble with a PE teacher once for telling him that I didn't see any point in running if nothing is chasing you. He actually chased me. Following week he shattered his ankle, and then he didn't chase me anymore. :rolleyes1
