Ah, yes, you read my mind. Ya know it could happen. So much is happening so quickly. I was thinking about Billy G. a righteous man for our generation. God has often sought out a righteous person and those would will listen were spared (I'm thinking Noah here). Anyway, he's an old man now. There will definitely be a loss when his time comes. I can't think of who will follow his footsteps in such a big way, leading many. Anyway, it is just a thought in tough times, knowing the Bible to be true and fulfilling itself still. :)

::yes:: Interesting times. popcorn::

There is a 1/2 in WDW (the Minnie) in March 6-8th. It also features a 5K!
Nice and flat at WDW and there is no more fun place to do a race either. WDW does them right! Here in TN there are too many hills for me! ;)

I'm going to have to check this out. We're supposed to be down there the 9th so it might work, I just don't know if I'll be in that kind of shape by then. But I could always try the 5K part :hyper:

Mr. Obama sure is high on himself since he created a new office...that of The Office of the President Elect.

He does seem quite arrogant. His stands on issues are what I disagree with most, but his arrogance is really beyond annoying.

I became a Christian at a Billy Graham conference when I was 10, so I have such fond memories of him. I think of all the 'seeds' that were planted through his ministry...my kids, my kids friends. And I'm just one of...well, many! :goodvibes

I got into trouble with a PE teacher once for telling him that I didn't see any point in running if nothing is chasing you. He actually chased me. Following week he shattered his ankle, and then he didn't chase me anymore. :rolleyes1

LOL! My DH took a P.E. position this year (after several in K). They didn't tell him he had to lead a running club, and that he had to run with the kids. Phew...he did it, but he came home and went to bed every night about 7 p.m. He was beat!

RUSSIAN ANALYST PREDICTS DECLINE AND BREAKUP OF USA
Tue Nov 25 2008 09:04:22 ET

A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.

Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse."

The paper said Panarin's dire predictions for the U.S. economy, initially made at an international conference in Australia 10 years ago at a time when the economy appeared strong, have been given more credence by this year's events.

When asked when the U.S. economy would collapse, Panarin said: "It is already collapsing. Due to the financial crisis, three of the largest and oldest five banks on Wall Street have already ceased to exist, and two are barely surviving. Their losses are the biggest in history. Now what we will see is a change in the regulatory system on a global financial scale: America will no longer be the world's financial regulator."

When asked who would replace the U.S. in regulating world markets, he said: "Two countries could assume this role: China, with its vast reserves, and Russia, which could play the role of a regulator in Eurasia."

Asked why he expected the U.S. to break up into separate parts, he said: "A whole range of reasons. Firstly, the financial problems in the U.S. will get worse. Millions of citizens there have lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse, and this means that whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Dissatisfaction is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the elections and the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles."

He also cited the "vulnerable political setup", "lack of unified national laws", and "divisions among the elite, which have become clear in these crisis conditions."

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

He even suggested that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.

Guess I better start brushing up on my Russian...:rotfl2:

I just had to come back and rant a bit about this. The President Elect is on TV AGAIN!!

How often do we need to hear him? Everyday? Just release this stuff to the newpaper and be done with it already. We do not need to have a press conference for every appointee. If this is what he plans to do then lets just turn CNN over to him with the understanding he can ONLY talk on CNN.
No, no, no - MSNBC. :cool2:

Oh, wait, thats already happened! :lmao:

LOL, WTH!!

Wasn't it Zippa who talked about Obamavision? LOL. Too funny. (Dancing With Obama, etc.) I think his arrogance bothers me a lot also.

Blestmom, that is wonderful to hear. I know he has reached so many people during his lifetime with the Gospel. It will be such a loss when he dies. I'm thinking it could be good timing. ;)

Luckily, there are very few professions that have a worse record when gazing into the "Magic 8-Ball" than Russian Analysts (of any kind)........our CIA included. That is saying a lot IMO.

There are differing interpretations of Hope and Change around the world and differing degrees of lunacy also. I suppose this is Russia's last hope for change. A shame really. They used to play the "heavy" nicely. Now, they are just kind of pitiful.

From Hammer and Sickle to Vodka and Pickle.........

Ha Ha!

Sincerely,

Nelson Muntz

Yeah...I just thought it was funny because I live in Alaska...:rotfl2:

As for all the running...you guys run, and I'll cheer.

I got into trouble with a PE teacher once for telling him that I didn't see any point in running if nothing is chasing you. He actually chased me. Following week he shattered his ankle, and then he didn't chase me anymore. :rolleyes1

 I'm not much of a runner, either. Maybe if I had my asthma under control I might convince myself, but for now, ummm, no.

Somebody in Russia needs to study history...we bought Alaska (Seward's Folly, russkies...look it up), it's not on loan.
Someone's been imbibing too many liquified potatoes. :rotfl:

Alright y'all, be good. I'm taking the next few days off because I'll be wicked busy with the holiday. I might check in every now and then, but if I don't -

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!

Wishing everyone a safe and blessed holiday! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Breezy. Fortunately we will have lots of food and leftovers to tide us over until you get back. :)

I'm right there with you! I told myself I was going to start walking every day, I guess I'll start when we get to WDW. When we had a treadmill I used it all the time. I'm thinking I need to ask Santa for another treadmill.

Hmm, is anybody else noticing there are some areas of the United States not mentioned? I mean there are so many things wrong with that model its sort of funny.

So if this division happens, and we become what, separate countries, does that mean it could be tough to visit other "parts"? Now that might not be bad. Conceivably under Mr. Mother Russia's model, I ]might not be able to get into some other states. I might never have to lay eyes on a few family members again!

And if Russia wants Alaska, they are going to have to go through Sarah Palin first. Good luck with that, I think she can handle them just fine.:rotfl:

I guess I'm under Canadian influence? *can't stop laughing* Except for hockey, I want to know what Canadian influence is? Am I suddenly going to want ketchup potato chips? Pretend there isn't a drug problem in large cities while I walk over the OD'd people on sidewalks? (in Toronto) Nothing against Canada, but I'm an American. A country's close proximity isn't going to make me say.. OHHH I want what they're having! The last time I went to Canada I was there to take an out of town friend there so she could say she'd been to another country.
