I'm up because the Dish went out.. Stupid me thought I'd knock off the snow in my slippers... I don't know where they got an inch from, but four inches went to my ankles. I lost the war, woke up more due to the cold, and am now watching cable instead. Seems Charade is on so I thought I"d watch John on demand! LOL

I hope your cold gets better!

:grouphug: goodness, what a night you've had. Snow, even! well, time with Cary is never wasted....here's hoping you'll get to sleep soon.

I think MM got snow/sleet and rain. A lot more than we did, too. She just might get her snow day.

Yep, its older Cary, but still very nice!

:lmao: Conservative women are cheap, too. ;) Just kidding (wanna place bets on that comment being picked up and run with?). My husband tells people one of the reasons he loves me is because I'm cheap. My mother tried correcting him and saying "She's frugal." He just laughed at her and said "Naw...she's cheap. And I love her for it." :lmao:

My wife is Conservative, hot, AND frugal! I got the trifecta! :thumbsup2

I ran CC in jr high. My children still laugh at this fact. I had to show them pictures because they didn't believe me!

Maybe when my lungs are cleared of old smoke residue I can start walking.. then maybe think about a mile. Sure would take the weight off, thtough I'm not so sure someone at my weight should be running at all! OK>. walking! *need a treadmill or I'll make the ice as an excuse*
Okay Deb. If you want to do it (seriously - let's start with a 5k), I'll do it with you. We'll meet somewhere in between us and even walk it together. We can form our own team. I have a bum knee, so running for me is difficult, but I can give it a try.

In case any of you are avoiding the latest Palin bashing thread for fear of being lured into a potential points-earning situation, I wanna share the pics I posted there with you guys. My cousin took these in Alaska two winters ago when he was fishing (commercial). They were running a 24 hour crew rotation cracking ice off the boat to keep it from sinking. I believe it is about a 70 foot boat (I've been on it, but I'm not positive about the length). They would go from one end to the other, and by the time they reached the bow, the stern looked like this again. :scared1:

These pictures are amazing!! What month in the year were these taken?

I heard a rumor that Cavuto might be taking Brit Hume's place when he leaves Fox. Has anyone else heard this? Would this mean a change in programming?

When does Glen start at Fox anyway?
I didn't know Brit Hume was leaving. Where is he going?

DARN IT ALL - NO SNOW DAY! It was SO windy here last night I thought my house was going to be blown off the foundation, but we got NOTHING. It was warm enough that all we got was rain, so now we have dirty, muddy snow that's melting. I was hoping for at least a delay. The kids are bummed because now the snow is almost gone too. What a bummer.

Of course, just northeast of us they got pummeled with snow, but not us. We get less snow than much of the area around here because we have Lake Michigan on one side and an inland lake on the other, so both lakes keep us warmer. If you go to the east of the inland lake, that's where all of the lake effect snow goes. We don't get any of it.

Oh well. Guess I'll have to entertain myself today with the same-o same-o - laundry, cleaning, organizing, etc. My life is so exciting.... :rotfl:

I don't know whether it is a full moon, all the kool-aid or what, but the threads on the CB this evening are crazy. I haven't been reading this one so I have no idea what you all have been talking about. I have tried to be very respectful since obama won and we need to move forward but with all the Clinton people getting appointed (what change is that??) and the dreaded Palin bashers still harping on her, it is hard to read the CB right now and hard to try and remain nice about everything. He may have a little over 3 years and then I think things will head south.

Maybe 3 1/2 yrs? :rolleyes1 ;) (I hope you get the reference, I think you will ;) )

Hi, everyone!!!!

I've not been on in a couple of days. Bad migraine :headache: . Nice meds plus phenergan via iv :thumbsup2 . I did get a nice birthday dinner today. We found a great little steak restaurant that even has s'mores. We are claiming it's my 29th birthday! So what if it's anniversaries :rolleyes1

Wow, I guess I have a lot of reading to do.... :surfweb:

:cool1:  :cool1: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

dandroo...Love the Coulter pic! :thumbsup2

:hyper: I'll join! :hyper:

I'm not much of a runner, but I'm good in the distances. Doesn't allears have a 5 or 10k at Animal Kingdom each year? I say we train, and then sign up to go!

Who's with me? popcorn::

Wouldn't that be fun? I'm not sure if I could talk my husband into actually letting me do it ($$$$ for getting down there), but I could do it virtually with all of you.

I'm a horrible runner, but I need to get in shape. I keep signing up to do things like this, then wimp out. I need to stop that!

Make a deal with him. Tell him you need to get in shape (your words not mine ;) ), and this would motivate you.

It would motivate me, in fact I think I just gave myself a great idea. I'm going to take my own advice and approach DH with it. I'll let y'all know if it works.

BTW, does anyone know when the race takes place? I seem to remember it in the Spring, but I could be wrong.

My ex and his family were all commercial fishermen. Few of them still are because of the permit/quota/and market situations these days. Well, and the price of deisel sunk a lot of fishing families too, if you'll pardon the pun. He was born in Sitka and went straight from the hospital to a 56 foot long liner. They fished halibut, black cod and salmon (purse seined those). They didn't get into that insane deep water, extreme weather stuff my cousin does. That boy is a CRAZY Indian. :lmao:

Seriously, if I was on that boat the LAST thing I would be thinking of would be getting out my camera and sending pics to my cousin. I'd be too busy gibbering like a chimp in extreme fear.

The fishing boat photos are just crazy! What type of fishing does your cousin do exactly? I find it very interesting.

I'm not much of a runner, but I would love an excuse to get back into shape...especially if it would also be an excuse to go to WDW and meet fellow Disers.

I'm not much of a runner either and really seriously need to get back in shape. Maybe we should all do it together. There are running support and info threads on the WISH boards that have lots of helpful people.

There are actually several running events in WDW. One of my co-workers is going for the marathon in Jan. http://disneyworldsports.disney.go....s/sportDetail/detail?name=EnduranceDetailPage

I'd love to do it one of these years.

They have sweepers that take you off the course if you go too slow. You have to maintain a 15 min mile IIRC. (That's 4 mph) I can walk that fast for a bit but I'm nor sure I can do it for 3.1 miles (5k.)

I just gleaned this from another thread. This is evidently how they see themselves...we are the party of peace, love, and understanding...quote unquote. Anyone else not seein' it?

Thanks for making me spit my coffee out on my keyboard! :rotfl2:

Glad to hear the migraine is better. I use to get them way back before my hyster, for years. Was the only good thing that came out of having that surgery. Happy belated Birthday!:dance3:

I know that some of you choose to read the OS thread and come back here and comment on some of the posts, but can you imagine if everything offensive that they posted inspired new threads?? I know the OP made a comment about everybody needed to know "the truth", but I think if they're reading this thread and it's getting them riled up to such an extent, then they should seriously consider unsubscribing.

:thumbsup2 It'll never happen though. They can't tear themselves away from here. You know how enticing it is to want to hang with the popular crowd!:cool1:

Because we are raining on their victory parade and are a thorn in their side. I also think for some of them that defensive posturing is a knee-jerk reaction after eight years of being stuck in that mindset. No matter when or how we criticize Obama, it will not be justified in most of their opinions. So our perspective needs to be diminished, but I really don't know why they waste their time giving us so much attention. Sort of makes me feel special though.:goodvibes :rotfl:

:cool2: :cheer2:

hi guys... thought i'd share a couple of pics today. I've been a member of an online quilt group for about 4 years now, and we have members from all over the world. Today i received a gift from several members who worked together to make a quilt for Jacob and thought I'd share. It is too cute!! This is just slightly larger than a crib quilt to give you some perspective... Second picture is a gift from one of the members in England who knitted the tiniest little sweaters for him. They actually fit!! (They're too small for an AG Doll to give you reference :P

Love the quilt, and the sweaters are too sweet. How cute Jacob is!:)

We have time to train. Let's pick a date and go for it. I don't think I'd be able to get to the World to do it (finances are kind of tight), but I can find a local race and do it with you all in spirit. :)
