I used to love scaring the kids when they were growing up. On our first trip to Disney, they were fighting over the window seat - until I mentioned "you know, those windows hardly ever break". Then I would sometimes come out with a sucking noise.

I always have been a little warped.

We bought one of those faces in the crystal balls with the moving head in it for Halloween a few years back. This year whenever someone would ask if it was real I'd say with a straight face, "Yes, Uncle Fred usually lives in the basement but he comes out a few times during the year. Aren't you lucky?!"

You are eeeeevil. :rotfl:

I'm also going to see if I can find a wii. It's not important, but we've all been wanting one. Other than the ipod and camera, I'm just looking to see if anything grabs me for the last couple of presents. We are cutting way back, so any deals are welcome.
We're also looking at Wii's, trying to see if we can find one at a decent price. If we get one my DSIL is giving us a WiiFit for Christmas. :thumbsup2

I used to work in a funeral home/cemetery...ya'll would have been a hoot as co-workers.

Good morning!

DS is NOT a happy camper. Everyone on his hockey team has the day off, and they live in a three county area. We have school here where we live. Everything north of us, within three miles of us, is closed. May he get the learning he needs!

Looking at Camera's and ipods. I'm thinking that the Nano 3rd generation plus folio and free shipping at $104.99 would not be bad. I was going to get the 4the 4th generation, but the reviews were not as good.

As for digital cameras, I don't know what to get DD. There seems to be a lot at decent prices, but I'm reading a lot so it's slower. I need something for her that takes decent pictures even when there is movement. I'm not looking for anything extreme, but hers is terrible. Any ideas for a decent camera that is not terribly expensive?

Do not get the Olympus FE310 8MP! It stinks!!! I scrapbook also, and am very fussy about my photos. I've always had Fujis and loved them. My nephew knocked my camera out of my hand last year while we were at Disney, so the camera had an early demise. I'm sort of fussy when it comes to my camera. I liked ones that use AA batteries, as I've found the AA lithiums last forever, and I really hate having to charge batteries. So I found this Olympus for about $150 on QVC, and it was being rated at 4 out of 5 stars. I figured Olympus had a good reputation, so I got it.

Ugh! I hate that camera. It takes really lousy shots, everything is always blurry, the low light shots are horrible, plus it has no viewfinder, so in bright daylight I can't even see what I'm shooting. What a disappointment. I think I'm going back to Fuji.

DD was disappointed she had to go to school too. We didn't even have any snow on the ground. LOL

Thanks for the pm too. ;) (muhuhahaha)

Good Morning to all! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday.

I have been at the lake for the weekend and no way can I catch up! Had a blast shopping with my mom, sister and niece! The outlet mall opened at midnight and we didn't stop until about 4 in the afternoon! I have no idea who I bought what at this point. But I think I am mostly finished Christmas shopping!

How much snow do you have HockeyMom? We didn't have any at Table Rock but there is some on the grass here in StL. Not enough to even think of closing school but it is a bit slick.

Switch mom and dad... make the Polish side Catholic and the German side Protestant and you have my family. Which brings me to my post.

I'm betting you're like me and can look at an onion and potato and think up about 50 ways to make dinner!

TLsnell>> I wish I had the numbers for crazy people who steal or borrow guns so we could subract it from sane legitimate gun owners! That number is the one I'd like to post.

*just up doing a weather update... I heard this voice call over when I was on the stairway asking if school had been cancelled... BWAAHAHAHAH I don't think so.
I love onion and potatoes, but you've got to add cheese. Yum!! Even better with ham or bacon. Might whip that up right now!

We have a SNOW DAY TODAY!! At first it was just a two hour delay, but now it's a snow day. DS is outside shoveling the neighbor's driveway and I'm going to cook up some hot cocoa for him when he's done.

I'm exhausted from reading your post. 16 hours shopping! WOW!!!!!

Off to decorate the house!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 This is exactly why my heroes are American soldiers. I love their spirit.

:goodvibes I adore her. I still can't understand why everyone keeps bashing her. Please... it's old and very stupid.

They bash her because she scares them. She is a true conservative. A woman who was not born into a political family. A woman who did not attend Ivy League schools. A woman who did not let being a woman slow her down. A woman who rose to her level of leadership through pure hard work and determination. A woman who gave birth to her imperfect child, thinks of him as a blessing, and thinks of herself as lucky to have him in her life. She has a family, a career, a good marriage, and is beautiful to boot. She is everything that women before her have worked to become and she is NOT A DEMOCRAT!!! She inspires people. She excites conservatives. She is going places and we support her. She scares them because they know she is a force to be reckoned with. They have good reason to be scared. She is the furture of the Republican Party and we love her.

Go Sarah!

Oh, oh, oh, that reminded me...

I used to have this 92 camero, that, every once in a while would make a noise going around the corner. I'd look at my kids with a perfectly straight face - "that used to be your older brother". "Dad, we don't have an older brother". "Exactly". :rotfl:

Are people allowed to be pleasantly surprised or unexepectedly disappointed in Obama's cabinet picks??:confused3 I guess the OP of that thread didn't get the memo instructing us not to form any opinions until after 1/20/09.:rotfl:

Yet another thread I had to censor myself on...been having to do that a lot, lately.
I am hopeful-hopeful that his picks are not truly indicating that we are changing back to the Clinton administration. I'll just keep wiping my eyes-eventually I will wake up in 4 to 8 years & hopefully, this was all just a horrible nightmare. Or that Ashton Kutcher pulled off the ultimate "punk'd" episode...& got the entire nation.

Hi, everybody!!!

I just bought this book last night. I'm on Chapter 4 and already LOVE it.
My library only had the audio book which was just as well. I can listen to it on my way to and from work. I've already listened to the first of 4 CD's at lunch today. It's wonderful so far... :thumbsup2
