I accept that he is the president. However, I do not agree with his policies.

Okay, parse this one:
What's with the shtick? I'm not "parsing" anything. I simply pointed out that the prior examples you cited were characteristically different that what Obama critic did. In the secondary example you provided it's more in line with "abort Obama" sign. In both cases I'd say the SS should have exercised some more discretion before knocking on the guys' doors. I'm not quite sure what you think I'm trying to say?!?!? :confused3

It is the same Lib shtick that goes on elsewhere on the CB.

1. They bring up a point.

2. Point is refuted with reasoning and logic.

3. Google another lib talking point and ask about this one.

keep repeating this until the Conservative gives up, the Lib runs out of talking points from their Google searches, or their Mommy tells them to go to bed.

Yeah, and don't forget to throw in the tin foil hat mantra.:rolleyes2

No means of killing anyone there. Except I guess it's obvious Bush can't go to hell until he's dead.

I appreciate that you don't think this is political, but obviously others here think this is just the first step to Obama's using his powers to disappear this guy. That's tinfoil hat territory.

You've provided some similar examples of those on the left being harassed by government officials for Constitutionally protected criticism of government officials — and I am equally appalled in those cases. You'll have to understand, however, that there is a frightening, irrational, and unprecedented cult of personality surrounding President Obama, many members of which seem far less tolerant of dissent than those of us on the right have been for the past 8 years.

--We have LEADING democrats calling for reinstatement of the "Fairness' doctrine, which I hope you'll admit is nothing more than an effort to use government to silence opposition speech (I realize Obama's spokesman says he's "not in favor" of this, but that is little comfort as he's been more than willing to have others do his dirty work for him — "Gosh, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid brought it back. I sure didn't want them to." Uh-huh.).
--Obama, in a 2001 radio interview, called the United States Constitution "deeply flawed" — in particular it's emphasis on "negative rights," those things government may NOT do, such as "Congress shall make NO laws abridging the freedom of speech…." That is deeply concerning to Conservatives, as I'm sure you can imagine. We're far more interested that government respect what it can NOT do rather than what it CAN do.
--We have Al Sharpton "protesting" political cartoons and forcing "apologies" for the crime of free speech reminiscent of the violently intolerant Danish Muslim cartoon episode. It seems no one is "allowed" to satirize President Obama — for fear of what, exactly?
--We had public school districts issuing orders on Inauguration Day that no criticism of Obama will be permitted. That, too, was unprecedented.
--During the campaign the democrat governor of Missouri tried to use the state attorney general's office to silence Obama critics through criminal prosecutions.
--We have a United Nations trying to get the US to sign on to a resolution essentially outlawing "defamation" of certain religions, something past administrations have refused to do, but will Obama who is much more in tune with the UN's leftist stance? Under the U.S. Constitution, we're allowed to criticize the excesses of any religion we want to. Period.

President Obama is thin-skinned. He cannot stand criticism. We've seen the flashes of anger when it happens, the derisive, sarcastic tone. He threw the reporters of newspapers that didn't endorse him off his campaign plane. While GWB endured (and yes, there is no other word for it than endured) years of the harshest, most vile, and even unfair criticism — often to the chagrin of Conservatives who were screaming at their TV's "Fight back, for God's sake," President Obama has shown little willingness to endure and rather attacks (at the expense of the dignity of the Office of the Presidency), attempts to marginalize, marshals the far left blogosphere to attack, and, I believe, will seek to ultimately silence his critics, first through intimidation, and if that fails through government fiat. Oh, it'll be wrapped up in pretty language — "local control," "multiculturalism," "tolerance," not being "offensive," etc. — but ultimately it will be the government telling Americans what they can and can't say about the most profound conflicts of our time, and if that happens, the American experiment is over.

I imagine you'll come back with the US Patriot Act (which Obama is keeping) or the rights of those at Gitmo (few rights, which Obama's justice department just concluded), and of course you've already suggested that those of us who wish to preserve the First Amendment in its full splendor are wearing "tinfoil hats," but I think you'd better get used to seeing us in our Reynolds Wrap because whether you believe it or not, if you're a democrat today, you've signed on to a party that wants the government to be far more intrusive into private citizens lives than our Constitution allows, so the criticisms will continue.

Google and Factcheck.:lmao: I love asking them questions. It's amazing how adept they are at "finding the answer".

Don't forget the insults and name calling.

Yeah, and don't forget to throw in the tin foil hat mantra.:rolleyes2

I wonder if they keep a bucket of sand nearby? It'd make it much easier for them to "bury their heads" in it.

Obama Decrees: Massive Immigration of Hamas Refugees from Gaza
by Lou Dobbs

Obama has signed a presidential determination allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to resettle in the United States. Sure, what can go wrong when we allow hundreds of thousands of people who have been, as Mark Steyn memorably described, "marinated" in a "sick death cult," who voted for Hamas, and 55% of whom support suicide bombings live here and at the American taxpayers' expense:
By executive order, on January 27, (Federal Register on February 4) Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in urgent migration assistance to the Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza to resettle in the United States.
Few on Capitol Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006 at US taxpayers expense.

Let's review some of Obama's most recent actions since he was inaugurated a little more than two weeks ago:
• His first call to any head of state as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.
• His first one on one interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.
• He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.
• He ordered all overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.
• He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and 9/11.
• Today we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to and live in the US at American taxpayer expense.

So We can't pay our own bills. Our economy is dying, hundreds of thousands of people are losing their jobs, and now we will pay to move terrorists and their supporters to live free in our country? What about the thousands of our brave soldiers who gave their lives to fight these terrorists? Obama insulted the Medal of Honor Award winners at their Inauguration Ball by being the first President in over 40 years to not show up and now he inviting their very enemies to come live in our country at our expense? Why not just send all of our weapons over there and allow them to kill us now? It will be less painful!
Now you see why the founding fathers wanted to protect us from a president with devided loyalties! Now do you see why congress and the Supreme court should have made Obama show proof of natural born citizenship.

"The times are dark, the spirits of ruin are abroad in all their power, and the mercy of God alone can save us."

"Our reliance is the love of liberty which God has planted in our bosoms. Our defense is the preservation of the spirit which prized liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands, everywhere. Destroy this spirit and you have planted the seeds of despotism around your own doors. Familiarize yourself with the chains of bondage and you are preparing your own limbs to wear them."

"Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it."
€” President Abraham Lincoln

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb."

--- Benjamin Franklin

President Obama is putting the finishing touches on an ambitious first budget that seeks to cut the federal deficit in half over the next four years, primarily by raising taxes on business and the wealthy and by slashing spending on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, administration officials said

How many saw the snide retorts from the os....regarding BO raising taxes? It was on the "spendulus" thread. They said we were crazy. "Where did it say he was raising taxes? He's not raising taxes...he's cutting them. He would have cut them more if the Republicans would have let him.".:rotfl: Do they only believe it if the read it? (on one of "their" websites)

Of course, they will be happy business and the "rich" are the one's hit.

I'm going to throw up. :scared1:

Class warfare. It'll work. For awhile. Until they run out of "rich" people's money. I hope Obama's supporters understand where they'll go then to get the money they need to feed the beast.

My conservative Aunt sent me a great book called Stealth Jihad, about non-terrorist methods of making America a Muslim empire. Very interesting, when coupled with earlier post.

I used to laugh at conspiracy theorists because my gut told me they were wrong. Now my gut keeps going that way, too.

Funny thing- my BIL was a BO campaign leader in our city. He was at my house last Sunday and saw a copy of the aforementioned book. He picks it up and says, "This is garbage. We need to worry more about talk radio and the fact that the Conservative Christian groups want to take womens' right away."

After resisting the urge to vomit, I asked him to please quote which talk radio hosts that he was referring to and which Conservative Christian leaders had made this statement. Of course he couldn't. This is how brainwashed these people are. I wish I had known about the TV station owner cutting off his wife's head at the time. I think that's the ultimate "taking away her rights" kind of mentality.

Did anyone read the AP article assuring us that this in no way could be considered an honor killing and trying to parse words about Muslim theology in regards to imams "preaching" respect for women (or, not killing them when they are not obedient enough).

Please bear in mind that I have NOTHING against the Muslims that I know that are here in America because they wanted to get away from this insanity. I just can't imagine why you would want to take the same sort of people who set Paris on fire for weeks here to the good old US of A. What are you going to do? Ask the Jewish folks in each city to stay under cover for a while until they get Americanized?

Here is my next question: Why can't the Liberals just move to China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, or Zimbabwe and live for a while in that glorious social experiment called Socialism/Communism and then come back (if they don't starve to death first or get killed speaking out against the government)
and tell us how much better they like it in our REPUBLIC.

Have the social engineering experiment somewhere else, thanks. Then let all the oppressed people that want freedom and economic liberty come over here and live free of fear and repression. Like swapping homes on Craigslist, but way better!

And to the 'human rights attorney' who used hope twice in one sentence, I say boo friggin' hoo.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!! you KILL me!!!

you could change the words in aretha's song, "who's zoomin' who", to "boo friggin' hoo"...that'd be great to play at the next inauguration when our candidate is sworn in.

(for the lib lurkers, i don't mean that she's literally killing me. we know that'd be against the law and probably quite messy. it's merely an expression.)
I have read all the posts from today and just want to say that I agree with everything all of you have had to say....this was easier than quoting all of your posts :rotfl:

I think I'm turning Republican :lmao: and I only have the DEMS to thank for that:thumbsup2 Obama wanted me to unite so I did....I united just fine with conservatives...no problem.....and you are all a pleasure to be around:flower3:

and the foods great here also :rotfl2:
I am viewing myself less and less as a Republican. The party is leaving me as they become more and more liberal. But sadly, the only real voting options are GOP or Dem, and I will NEVER vote for a Dem for a federal office.

:thumbsup2 And, I MEAN NEVER!!!

Did you see the stories I posted earlier? Found those in just a couple of minutes googling. Did you read what the Secret Service guys said in those stories?

Here's more:

http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/news.aspx?id=4666

i read your last stories and these too. i understand the comparison. what is really absurd to me is that this is merely an expression of a person's opinion, but certainly doesn't seem to be a threat. a threat would be along the lines of a group of people getting together saying, "let's do blah, blah, blah to the president. now who's going to do this part and who's going to do that part?" etc. i think it's a total waste of time to chase bumper stickers. there are greater threats to national security they could spend their time investigating.

sorry if i was unreasonable earlier.

Thanks for your replies, I'll think about it.

yeah, he's the pres for now, but i don't have to like it and i don't have to like him and i don't have to like what he does. criticising the goof is our right.

can't wait until somebody ELSE is pres.

i think it's okay for people to say he isn't their pres. we all know technically he is, but ideally he isn't, and that is what people mean. it is a simple and succinct way of saying that.
