It is sad. My manager just booked a trip for six people two days ago with Conquest. Her travel agent is trying to help with a new trip.

My friend ( travel agent) had a few ppl booked who is she is changing around and one whi is in cancun right now who she is trying to fix up... she s out 1000.00 comission tho with them that she was not payed yet!!!

Unfortunately, I am not terribly surprised. With the competition amongst Tour Operators to slash prices the profit margins become so low that it's not possible to remain viable. Buyer beware, if it seems to good to be true--chances are all too often, it is.

Yet another good reason to book through a TA, that way, they would deal with all the problems for you. And especially if something happens while you are away, at least you have someone helping you get home!

My apologies, as I mis-read your post.

They don't. But other Canadian tour operators do (like Nolitours). Yet another reason I'll NEVER book WDW through a Canadian tour operator.

My point was just the fact that it is a good idea to book your vacation through a TA because they will at least help you if a tour company goes under. If I was in another country (even the US) I would be much happier knowing that my TA was trying to help me out if I was stuck. The TA's are following proticol for helping their clients.....I am glad that I didn't have any of my clients booked with Conquest.

I just found out today about a girl that is doing a co-op placement where I work booking a package with Conquest. She finishes school next Friday and was going to Cuba on Monday with her son and fiance. She is really upset. She has had a very hard year at school and was looking foward to getting away. She doesn't have the money to book another trip.

She's such a great girl I want to do something for her on Monday to make her happy.
