Planning for a possible 2022 trip and we've always gotten the Dining plan but this time I'll have a 10 and 12 year old that would be a lot of money and they definitely won't eat that much. I've been pondering a 2 room stay at a value and a request for connecting rooms. If that request is granted and the rooms are connecting would both rooms have to be on the dining plan? (I know this is a lot of "what if's" since dining plans aren't even back yet, but I figure they will be coming back as more restaurants open and capacity increases.)

Yes if they are on the same reservation all guests need the same tickets and dinning plans based on the previous policy. As to what the future holds who know.

If you make them as 2 separate reservations (so you'd need an adult on each reservation,) then no definitely wouldn't have to both be on the dining plan. You can still request connecting rooms...not a guarantee, but we do this all the time and in all of our trips/resorts etc. (at least 1 each year for the last 15 yrs.) we've never not gotten connecting rooms.

If I were you and it's what you wanted to do; I would with no concerns.

An adult on each reservation wouldn't be a problem for us, I like the idea of connecting rooms so we would have 4 beds and 2 bathrooms!!! Our last stay at CBR was super tight and I hated not being able to sleep. We've done a Nemo suite and it was lovely, but I was still on a pull out sofa with my kid so the hubs could snore in the bed. LOL!

Just curious why you didn't opt for the Murphy bed rather than using a pullout sofa?

Are there connecting rooms where both rooms have two beds in each? I thought they connected a king bed room with a double-double...???

King+Double was a disability (wheelchair accessible) option at the value resorts but it isn’t offered since the room upgrades were done.

Connecting rooms usually have 2 queens in each. I’m not sure if there are any king rooms that connect to 2-queens, maybe.

No, there's tons of rooms that connect in which both rooms have 2 queen beds
